Munguia has been in the ring with some of the best. Indeed, his most recent fight, and only career defeat to date, was against the one and only Saul Alvarez.

In the case of Bazinya, the Armenian-born, Canadian boxer is just stepping up to elite level.

Jaime Munguia has a career fight record of 43-1.

Of his 43 wins, 34 have come by KO, with nine by decision. His only defeat came on points, and it was a unanimous decision loss against Canelo Alvarez in May.

In the defeat to Canelo, Munguia did his reputation no harm. The 27-year-old Mexican survived being dropped for the first time in his career in the defeat.

In his 32 career victories, 23 have come by KO, with nine by decision. The only fight he didn’t win was his last contest against Shakeel Phinn, which the judges scored as a controversial draw.

The result didn’t do Bazinyan’s reputation any good, as the majority watching thought the 29-year-old was well beaten by Phinn.
