Max Holloway vs. Chan Sung Jung Betting Pick
Two fan favorites throw down in the main event. The odds, however, are anything but close. Get this, Holloway is a staggering -800 favorite on the moneyline. That’s not worth betting straight up or even putting in a parlay. To find better betting value, one must go to the Holloway-Sung over/under. Here are the two options:
Remember, as the main event, this is a five-rounder so the over/under is dead in the middle of it. Both fighters are extremely-talented strikers. Holloway can swing with the best of them. If not for the presence of Alexander Volkanovski (who’s given him his only three career losses in this division), “Blessed” would be the featherweight champion of the world. He’s seriously an all-timer.
And then there’s the Korean Zombie, a nickname he’s earned for taking a beating and not going down. However, that reputation is slowly starting to fade as Jung has aged. Last time out, Volkanovski KO’d him — the fourth knockout loss of his career. Jung is 36 years old and has taken a lot of damage, which has weakened his chin.
Speaking of chins though, Holloway arguably has the best in the entire UFC. The man has never been KO’d despite facing the best of the best. He’s also only 31 years old so there’s reason to believe Holloway still has plenty left in the tank. At least in this fight, we don’t see Zombie ending his iron man streak of KO-less defeats.
All things considered, we’re taking the under. We think Holloway is going to pick apart Jung with his striking and earn the stoppage by the mid-point of the fight. This is a fun matchup but Holloway is such a cut above Korean Zombie at this stage.
Erin Blanchfield vs. Taila Santos Betting Pick
Thankfully, this fight should be way more competitive. Across the top UFC betting sites, the Blanchfield-Santos moneyline odds are super close. Here are the lines both ways:
We’ll be completely honest, we’re torn on this flyweight matchup, and here’s why: Santos should probably be the title-holder right now. She last loss to Valentina Shevchenko a year ago, a fight we and many others believe she won (officially it was a split-decision loss). But then there’s the 24-year-old Blanchfield who looks like a future champion. She’s fresh off an annihilation of ex-champion Jessica Andrade.
This fight will really come down to whether Blanchfield, a grappler through and through, can take down Santos, who has a 78 percent takedown defense. Our gut says that Santos holds her own based on top-level experience. We fully buy the Blanchfield hype but Santos is a step up in competition and has hands that could make her pay if she’s over-focused on taking her down. Santos at plus-money is the pick to make here.
Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann
We have another close matchup in the semi-main event featuring a pair of light heavyweights. Spann is a marginal favorite over Smith on the moneyline. Here’s how each fighter’s odds shake out:
At first look, Spann being the favorite is head-scratching. That’s because Smith defeated Spann in their first bout. Back in 2021, Smith made Spann tap out with a rear-naked choke. But two years feels like an eternity ago for the now 35-year-old Smith, who’s lost two fights since then. We sense Smith’s best days are behind him.
We're betting Spann to avenge the loss. He's the naturally bigger fighter with an insane reach of 81 inches. Spann is also the faster fighter now. We believe those physical advantages and youth that Spann possesses will be too much for Smith in this one, and heck, we think an early stoppage is possible (18 of Spann's 21 wins are by finish). Bet on Spann with confidence in the semi-main event!
