Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill Prop Betting Pick
Dern vs. Hill was originally scheduled for last weekâs show as a three-rounder. It was moved to this event to beef up the card, and in the process, became a five-rounder. Thatâs a big change as weâll discuss shortly. With this Dern-Hill fight, we have our eyes on the exact outcome wager. The following options are available at the best UFC betting sites:
Fighter | |||
---|---|---|---|
Hill By Stoppage | +800 | +800 | +800 |
Hill By Decision | +200 | +200 | +200 |
Dern By Stoppage | +130 | +130 | +130 |
Dern By Decision | +190 | +190 | +190 |
Draw | +6600 | +6600 | +6600 |
Letâs throw out one outcome right now â Hill by early finish. Thatâs probably not going to happen. Hill has always been a pillow puncher, and that doesnât change now that sheâs 38 years old. Her path to victory is by decision, and thatâs really about it.
Hill is hurt more by the change to five rounds than the much younger Dern is. Stamina does diminish with age, plus Dern has always been known for endurance. Getting an extra two rounds improves her chances at victory. We do believe Dern wins, but how is the question â decision or stoppage?
Unlike Hill, Dern does have serious stoppage potential. She is a jiu-jitsu expert through and through, making her lethal on the ground. Seven of her 12 career wins have been by stoppage so finishes are actually the norm with Dern. Weâll bet that career mark becomes eight in this one. As the fight wears on, and Hill likely fades, sheâll be even more more to Dernâs submission holds. Our money says it ends in round four or so.
Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Anthony Hernandez Prop Betting Pick
Here again, our eyes are lighting up on the Shahbazyan vs. Hernandez prop around who wins and how. Same betting options as the main event, and they are as follows:
Fighter | |||
---|---|---|---|
Shahbazyan By Stoppage | +270 | +270 | +270 |
Shahbazyan By Decision | +550 | +550 | +550 |
Hernandez By Stoppage | -105 | -105 | -105 |
Hernandez By Decision | +215 | +215 | +215 |
Draw | +6600 | +6600 | +6600 |
As you can see above, the belief here is that Hernandez stops him within the three rounds. That makes sense given the fight styles. Despite being nicknamed âFluffyâ, Hernandez is anything but soft. He has a strong appetite for takedowns. Hernandezâs takedown average is 6.49 with an accuracy of 64 percent.
Last time out, Hernandez took down AndrĂ© Barriault eight times before making him submit late. Impressive, but hereâs another way to look at that: Barriault was able to escape seven times, which also says Hernandez's control on the ground isnât all that great.
But back to Shahbazyan, while he prefers to stand up and strike, his takedown defense isnât bad. He blocks 65 percent of takedown attempts, which could keep him out of trouble in this one. So while we think Hernandez does win, itâll come off of points (mainly those successful takedowns) and not from submission or any other finish.
Emily Ducote vs. Lupita Godinez
Ducote was originally scheduled to fight Polyana Vian on this card, but the latter was forced out, setting up this short-notice bout instead. With the new Ducote vs. Godinez fight, weâre eyeing the go-the-distance prop. Itâs a simple yes-or-no option:
Anytime you got a fight on this short notice (two weeks in this instance), you introduce chaos into the equation. Neither fighter is prepared to their full extent, which opens the door for a fatal mistake. Thatâs especially plausible with these two fighters that have opposite styles. Ducote is a striker, while Godinez is a grappler.
Our money says this one gets stopped early. We favor Ducote to win slightly because at least sheâs been in full-on camp, but weâre not confident enough to bet her decision line either. Itâs best just to wager on the fight not going the distance.
