The WTA's top-ranked player defeated Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-3 to win the 2020 Qatar Open. The Belarusian player skipped the event the past two years.

This season, Sabalenka is showing an 11-1 record. She lost in the final at the Australian Open. Her overall record at Doha is 7-2.
Coco Gauff
Gauff reached the quarterfinals at WTA Doha in 2022. However, she's 1-2 in three matches there since and 4-3 all-time in the Qatar Open.
