Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek are the most dominant female tennis players on the planet. As the WTA's switch to clay-court season continues with the Madrid Open, there's no indication that this dominance is expected to wither.

World No. 1 Sabalenka and second-ranked Swiatek are set as +300 co-favorites in the WTA Madrid Open tennis odds. Swiatek is defending champion in this event, while Sabalenka has won two of the past four Madrid Open titles.

Sabalenka A Sensation Here

Three times in the past four years, Sabalenka has played in the final at Madrid. The Belarusian won the title in 2021 and 2023. She lost last year's final to Swiatek.

She's already won twice this year, showing a 25-5 won-loss mark. Sabalenka has gone as far as the final in each of her last three tournaments and in five events during 2025.

Swiatak Past Miami Open Champion

Swiatek and Sabalenka have contested the past two Madrid Open finals. Last year's three-set win by Swiatek was viewed by many as the WTA match of the year. The Polish player held off three championship points before ultimately dethroning Sabalenka.

Swiatek's game of late does not look to be at that level of performance. Not only hasn't she won a single tournament, Swiatek has yet to reach a final in 2025.

Andreeva Struggling To Regain Form

Since her back-to-back wins at Dubai and Indian Wells, world No. 7 Andreeva has been struggling to rediscover that form. She's 2-2 in two tournaments since.

The 17-year-old Russian hasn't beaten a single seeded player since toppling Sabalenka in the Indian Wells final.

Rybakina Always A Contender On Clay

Rybakina is another player who thrives playing on clay courts. She shows a 69.93% win rate on the surface.

The 25-year-old Kazakh, ranked No. 11 in the world, has proven especially sharp on clay the past two years. She's 23-5 over that span.

Gauff Ready For A Breakthrough?

The young American shows an impressive 71.58% win rate on clay (68-27). Gauff has won 48 clay-court matches since 2021.

The 21-year-old world No. 4 got to the quarter-finals last week at Stuttgart. That was her best showing since also reaching the quarters at the Australian Open.

WTA Miami Open Longshot Bets

If there's a sleeper to keep an eye on in this tournament, that player would be Jelena Ostapenko (+2000). The Latvian player is 6-0 all-time when facing Swiatek and both are on the same side of the draw.

Ostapenko beat both Swiatek and Sabalenka on clay last week to win the title at Stuttgart. It was the first time in WTA history that the same player had beaten the top two players in the rankings in the same tournament on a clay surface.

You can access a betting line of +5000 on 2022 Madrid Open champion Ons Jabeur. However, the Tunisian player is slumping, with a 1-4 record through her past five singles matches.

Ranked No. 3 in the world, American veteran Jessica Pegula (+1600) was a quarter-finalist at Stuttgart. The 31-year-old is already 6-1 on clay surfaces this year. Overall, her career mark on clay is 127-77 (62.25%).

Jasmine Paolini's betting line has shortened from +5000 to +4000. The Italian player has reached the semifinals in each of her past two events. Paolini is 223-125 all-time on clay, good for a 64.08% win ratio.

Czechia's Karolina Muchova (+3300) likes playing on clay. She shows a career .667 winning percentage on the surface. That's her best number on any playing surface.

And The Winner Is . . .

Due to the altitude, Madrid tends to play a little differently than other clay court stops in the WTA Tour. The thin air makes being a big hitter with a powerful serve much more of an advantage here than at any other clay court on the circuit.

+300

That factor certainly favors Sabalenka's game, explaining why she's been in the final here in three of the past four years. Make it four out of five. Take Sabalenka to win in the WTA Madrid Open tennis.
