Sabalenka Has Never Won Here

Sabalenka is back in Miami after skipping last year's event. In 2023 she was the No. 2 seed, but was ousted in the quarter-finals.

The Belarusian player also reached the quarter-final stage at WTA Miami in 2021. This year, Sabalenka has a win in the Brisbane International. She was a losing finalist last week at Indian Wells and at the Australian Open.

Swiatak Past Miami Open Champion

Successive wins at Indian Wells and the Miami Open is known in tennis circles as completing the Sunshine Double. Swiatek turned these two successfully. In 2022, the Polish player and former World No. 1 defeated Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-0 to to take the WTA Miami title. That came right after her win at Indian Wells.

Swiatek joined Stefanie Graf (1994 and 1996), Kim Clijsters (2005) and Victoria Azarenka (2016) as the only female players to pull off the Sunshine Double. But she's failed to get past the semifinals in three of her four tournaments this year.

Andreeva Seeking Three In A Row

Only 17, Russian Andreeva has posted back-to-back wins at Dubai and Indian Wells. A win here and she'd be the youngest woman to pull off the Sunshine double.

With wins in two straight WTA 1000 tournaments, Andreeva extended her career-best winning streak to 12 straight matches.

Rybakina Two-Time Defending WTA Miami Finalist

Could it be third-time lucky for Rybakina at WTA Miami? She was a 7-5, 6-3 loser to Danielle Collins in the 2024 final. The year before, Rybakina was beaten 7-6(16-14), 6-2 by Petra Kvitova in the final.

The Kazakh player is 10-2 in Miami over the last two years. She won at Indian Wells in 2023, coming ever so close to completing the Sunshine Double.

WTA Miami Open Longshot Bets

You can access +5000 odds on Danielle Collins defending her title at WTA Miami. However, it's worth noting that no player has won this tournament in successive years since Serena Williams took three in a row from 2013-15.

Australian Open winner Madison Keys offers great value at +1200. The American player had won 16 matches in a row prior to her Indian Wells semifinal loss to Sabalenka. She hasn't gone as far as the quarter-finals in Miami since 2016, though.

Enjoying a bounce back campaign, Belgian Belinda Bencic (+3300) has climbed back into the top 50 in the WTA rankings. At Indian Wells, she reached the quarter-finals of her first WTA 1000 tournament since 2023.

Two past WTA Miami Open champions are deep longshots on the board. Former world No. 2 Petra Kvitova, the 2023 champion, is at +30000. She's just recently returned to the court following a year on maternity leave while giving birth to her first child. In two tournaments since returning to action last month, the Czech player has lost both times in first-round matches. She got into this tourney via a wildcard entry.

Three-time Miami champion Victoria Azarenka, most recently the 2016 tournament winner, can be accessed at a betting line of +25000. She also won WTA Miami in 2009 and 2011. Azarenka is tied for the third-most title wins in this event.

And The Winner Is . . .

As hot as she is right now, it's hard to fathom the thought that Andreeva, a teenager, could actually win three successive WTA 1000 tournament titles. Swiatek's recent struggles to get over the semifinal hump also can't be ignored.

Aryna Sabalenka To win WTA Miami Open

+275

The draw certainly sets up favorably for Keys, if you're looking to back a price. However, the American was humbled by Sabalenka 6-0, 6-1 in the Indian Wells semifinals. Sabalenka has won so many of the WTA's most prestigious hard-court tournaments, it's hard to look past her talents.

Those wins include three Grand Slam titles on this surface. Tue, she's never advanced beyond the Miami quarterfinals in six appearances. However, Sabalenka has been achieving a lot in the past couple of years that she hadn't previously accomplished. She's overdue for a win. Back Sabalenka in the WTA Miami Open tennis picks.
