The defending champion is Iga Swiatek. The Pole is the current World No.1, and won this title last year, comfortably defeating Coco Gauff in two sets (6-1, 6-3).

12 months ago, Swiatek was dominating the sport. Her win over Gauff in the final was her 35th victory in succession. But this year, she has been joined at the top of the womenâs game by Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina, with the trio now often referred to as the big three.
The big three have dominated the womenâs game this year, and between them, they currently hold all four Grand Slam titles. This is reflected in the latest betting on the French Open, which we will look at in more detail later.
In the three main WTA clay court events leading up to the French Open, the trio shared the titles between them. Swiatek won in Stuttgart, Sabalenka in Madrid, and Rybakina took the spoils in Rome.
The clay courts can sometimes upset the favorites, with top seeds and betting favorites often falling by the wayside. But these three all look more than comfortable on the red surface. A fact that is backed up in the betting to win the competition.
Betting to win the 2023 Womenâs French Open
The favorite to win the 2023 French Open with the top-rated online tennis betting sites is the defending champion, Iga Swiatek. Swiatek is just -120 to win the French Open for a third time. Which in a three horse race, could be odds that are too short.
Aryna Sabalenka is next in the betting at +450. The 2023 Australian Open champion doesnât have the greatest record at Roland Garros though, losing in the 3rd Round at this venue for the past three years.

Elena Rybakina at +550 makes up the top three in betting. Rybakina is the current Wimbledon champion, and was the losing finalist in this yearâs Australian Open.
Like Sabalenka, Rybakina doesnât have a great record at this venue. An appearance in the quarter-finals in 2021 is her best finish to date.
But the wins in Madrid and Rome have proven that the duo can play on clay. So, if they can replicate that in Paris, they could yet upset Swiatek on what looks like her strongest surface.
Outside of the big three, you can take your pick. Thereâs not a player shorter than the +2000 available on Jelena Ostapenko. Meaning if the winner does come from outside of the leading trio, she will be at a large price.

Our Picks to win the Womenâs 2023 French Open
Iga Swiatek has had ongoing issues with a thigh injury, but this doesnât seem to have affected her price to win the competition with the top online betting sites. Nevertheless, there has to be doubts over her fitness, meaning it makes - in our opinion - a bet on her at odds on way too risky.
Going against Elena Rybakina is her position on the same side of the draw as Swiatek. Rybakina ended up as the fourth seed, which puts her on a collision course with No.1 seed, Swiatek, before the final.
This leaves the No.2 seed, Aryna Sabalenka, with a clear run all the way to the final. Obviously, all three of these ladies have the ability to win this competition, but for a value bet, weâre making Aryna Sabalenka our first pick to win the 2023 French Open.
In direct competition against Sabalenka, is the 2017 winner Jelena Ostapenko. Ostapenko is in the same section of the draw as Sabalenka, but when it comes to making good value picks, her clay court pedigree adds up.
If Ostapenko comes through, then our pick on Sabalenka will have obviously lost. But we do believe that one of these two will prevail from this side of the draw, so we are prepared to also make Jelena Ostapenko our outside pick to win the 2023 French Open at +2000.
If youâre looking to pick a player from the other side of the draw, then it may also be worth picking Elena Rybakina to win at +550.
The Kazakh may well need to knock out the defending champion, but with odds currently as they are, and some doubts over Swiatekâs thigh injury, surely a bet on Rybakina has to be the better value pick.
