Only three tournaments are remaining before the end-of-season ATP Finals, so with places up for grabs, competition is intense as players try and grab one of the eight available places for Turin. The 2023 Rolex Paris Masters is the next stop on the tour, and in our latest tennis betting picks, we tell you if tournament favorite Novak Djokovic (+165) can win the title for a record seventh time.

The Paris Masters is a Masters 1000 tournament and one of the elite competitions on the ATP Tour roster. The defending champion is Holger Rune. The Norwegian defeated Novak Djokovic in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the final 12 months ago.

This was Novak’s fourth final in five years. In total, the Serbian has won this competition a record six times and appeared in a record eight finals. Djokovic also holds the record for the most successive tournament wins. Between 2013 and 2015, the current world number one won this event for three years running.
The last Masters 1000 event before Turin
The Paris competition is the last Masters 1000 event on the tennis roster before the ATP Tour Finals. Also known as the Race to Turin, the tour finals are the climax of the tennis season, with the eight most consistent performers qualifying to play in the lucrative event. As things stand, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Jannik Sinner have already secured enough points to qualify for Turin. Meaning only four spaces remain.
These final four spaces could be decided by the current Swiss Indoors Basel (500) or the Erste Bank Open (500) in Austria. But if not, the Paris Masters will take on increased importance, and as Jack Sock of the USA discovered in 2017, winning in Paris can catapult you into the tour finals from nowhere.
Betting to win the 2023 Paris Masters
With a couple of Masters series events still taking place, the starting lineup in Paris is yet to be finalized. But, what we do know is that Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are due to enter, as is world number three Daniil Medvedev, along with Jannik Sinner and defending champion Holger Rune.
In the latest tennis betting odds, Djokovic is the favorite at +165, with Carlos Alcaraz at +275, Daniil Medvedev at +900, and Jannik Sinner at +1200. Defending champion Holgar Rune is +1500 to win the title again.

Djokovic is still the man to beat in men’s tennis
Novak Djokovic has enjoyed a solid second half to the season in 2023. Djokovic's authority at the top of the men's game was challenged by Carlos Alcaraz after the Spaniard defeated him in the final of Wimbledon.

Since then Djokovic has bounced back in style, defeating Alcaraz in the final at Cincinnati Masters in August. Djokovic also won the US Open in September, with his rival losing in the semi-final against Daniil Medvedev.
Carlos Alcaraz will overtake Djokovic one day soon. But the 24-time Grand Slam winner has shown the young Spaniard he isn’t ready to relinquish his reign over men’s tennis just yet. And rather than falling behind Alcaraz, Djokovic has seen his points lead in the world rankings extend over recent weeks.
Alcaraz struggling to keep pace with the relentless Djokovic
Carlos Alcaraz hasn’t had much go right for him since winning Wimbledon. In a year he was expecting to overtake Djokovic at the top of the men’s game, Alcaraz has ended up playing second fiddle to the legendary Serb. Although in fairness to Alcaraz, injuries have played a large part since his win at Wimbledon.
The possibility that the strain of trying to compete with Djokovic has contributed to those injuries is genuine. But one thing for sure is that the Spaniard will come back strongly. Whether that is this season, is another matter. And there are still question marks about how fit he is heading to Paris.
Our Paris Masters Betting Picks
As well as having Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz to choose from, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune are also in town for this event. Rune won this event 12 months ago and will be keen to defend his title. But Daniil Medvedev has had an outstanding 2023 and would love to finish it with a Masters 1000 title.
Medvedev won this title in 2020 and lost to Djokovic in three sets in the 2021 final. Djokovic thrives in this event and is a great bet to win it. But for the better odds, we are picking Daniil Medvedev to win the Paris Masters at +900.
