---|---|---|---|
Iga Swiatek | -240 | -240 | -240 |
Aryna Sabalenka | +250 | +250 | +250 |
Karolina Muchova | +1800 | +1800 | +1800 |
Beatriz Haddad Maia | +2500 | +2500 | +2500 |
Now, letâs take a more detailed look at the four remaining players in the womenâs draw.
Iga Swiatek -240
Swiatek started the tournament as the -120 odds on favorite, and little has happened to say that the best tennis betting sites have got that wrong. As she was so heavily favored at the start of the competition, the defending champ's odds havenât changed much. Itâs like the bookmakers have just been waiting to see if Aryna Sabalenka could make it to the final to face the Pole.
So far, Swiatek hasnât dropped a set. In fact, she has lost just 15 games on her run to the last four, which even included a double-bagel win over the unfortunate Wang Xinyu in the 4th Round.
Wednesdayâs quarter-final against the No.6 seed Coco Gauff was by far the hardest match Swiatek has faced. The American was the beaten finalist here last year, and she made Swiatek work for her 6-4, 6-2 win on court Philippe-Chatrier.

Aryna Sabalenka +250
Aryna Sabalenka started the tournament as the second favorite, and thatâs exactly the position she still holds with the best online tennis betting sites. She has seen her tournament starting odds of +450 slashed to +250. But with little to compete against in her side of the draw, that was always going to be the case.
That said, Sabalenka hasnât had things all her own way. A comfortable 1st Round win over Marta Kostyuk was followed by a tough 2nd Round match against Iryna Shymanovich, with her compatriot pushing her close in the opening set.
Sabalenka came through that match and then had a routine 3rd Round win over Kamilla Rakhimova, before a tough 4th Round tie against American Sloane Stephens. The opening set went to a tie-break, won 7-5 by Sabalenka, with the second set also close, eventually finishing 6-4.
In her quarter-final, Sabalenka defeated Elina Svitolina 6-4, 6-4, to take her place in the semi-final.
Karolina Muchova +1800
Karolina Muchova has had to battle hard to get to this stage of the French Open.
This is the furthest she has ever gone in this competition, and after hard fought wins over the likes of Maria Sakkari (7-6, 7-5), Nadia Podoroska (6-3, 0-6, 6-3), and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (7-5, 6-2) in the quarter-finals, she will want to give it her best shot against Sabalenka on Thursday.
Itâs going to be a challenge for Karolina Muchova to upset the second favorite. And as we picked Sabalenka to win the competition, we have to hope the bookmakers have called it right in pricing her up at -300 to win this semi-final match.
Beatriz Haddad Maia +2500
Beatriz Haddad Maia has been the chief beneficiary of the unfortunate withdrawal of No.4 seed Elena Rybakina.
No.4 seed Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from the #RolandGarros draw due to illness, with Sara Sorribes Tormo advancing to the Round of 16 by walkover.

Instead of facing Rybakina in the 4th Round, the Brazilian crossed swords with Sara Sorribes Tormo. Sorribes Tormo made life difficult for Haddad Maia, taking the match to three sets. In the end Haddad Maia came out on top by a 6-7, 6-3, 7-5 scoreline. Then in the quarter-finals, the Brazilian was again taken to three sets, this time by Ons Jabeur (3-6, 7-6, 6-1).
Haddad Maia looks big at +1600 to defeat Iga Swiatek in their semi-final. And we are with the bookmakers on this and say this is where the No.14 seed's competition ends.
Our Pick
We started the competition with Aryna Sabalenka as one of our three picks at +450, as we didnât see much value in backing Iga Swiatek at -120. But, on the evidence witnessed since the start of the competition, the bookmakers seem to have called it right with pricing the defending champion up at such short odds.
Even so, if Aryna Sabalenka can come through her semi-final against Karolina Muchova, at least we know she will have a puncher's chance against Swiatek. Along with Elena Rybakina, Sabalenka is probably the only other with a realistic chance of defeating Swiatek on clay. And at this stage of proceedings, we canât abandon her.
Weâre sticking with our selection of Aryna Sabalenka to win the French Open. But a word of warning, it is going to be very difficult for her.
