The 2023 US Open starts this week and we’re set for two weeks of spectacular action as Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek attempt to defend their respective titles. This is the fourth and final tennis Grand Slam of the year, and here we’re going to tell you what the best bets of the competition are in our latest tennis betting picks.

Men’s Singles
Let’s get straight into the latest online tennis betting to win the men’s singles title at the 2023 US Open.
After their titanic battle at Wimbledon, which was won by Carlos Alcaraz, the 20-year-old Spaniard was the +120 betting favorite to win the US Open. His chief rival, Novak Djokovic wasn’t far behind at +150.
But after a disappointing start to his hard-court season, Carlos Alcaraz is no longer the favorite to win the title at Flushing Meadows this year. That honor now goes to his Serbian rival.
In the latest US Open betting, Novak Djokovic is the favorite at +125, with Carlos Alcaraz now out at +190 to defend the title he won when he defeated Casper Ruud in four sets last year.
The best tennis betting sites see it as a two-horse race between Djokovic and Alcaraz, as the third man in the betting is Daniil Medvedev, who is all the way out at +1200, with Jannik Sinner next at +1600.

Djokovic or Alcaraz?
Back to the titanic tussle at the top of men’s tennis, and the chief reason behind the drift in the US Open odds of Carlos Alcaraz is his recent performances. In the Canadian Open, he lost in the quarter-final stage to Tommy Paul in three sets. Then in the following event, he lost the final of the Cincinnati Masters to Novak Djokovic.
The defeat to Djokovic was no disgrace. The two men went toe-to-toe in a pulsating final that went to the wire. Alcaraz took the first set 7-5, then Djokovic hit back to win the second and third sets on tiebreaks (9-7 and 7-4).

The anomaly is that most seasoned observers would think that Djokovic would have had the edge on the grass of Wimbledon and Alcaraz would have the edge on the American hard courts. But it has turned out to be the other way around.
Our Men’s Pick
Onto our picks, and it’s a 50/50 call between the two men dominating the men’s game. Djokovic took a break after Wimbledon, while Alcaraz didn’t. The break served the Serbian well because, in his first tournament back, he won it (the Cincinnati Masters).
Even so, the US Open isn’t Djokovic’s best-performing Grand Slam. He has only ever won it three times, and although that’s some achievement, he has won the Australian Open ten times and Wimbledon seven.
And on top of that, when the Wimbledon final went deep, it was the younger man who came out on top. Djokovic may have won the Cincinnati Masters, but that was over three sets. We feel that Carlos Alcaraz will have the edge over five sets, and we make him our pick to win the men’s singles.
Women’s Singles
Onto the women’s singles, and it’s the usual names dominating the top of the betting. Iga Swiatek is the defending champion, and she is +230 to win the US Open again.
Behind Swiatek is Aryna Sabalenka (+500), Coco Gauff (+700), Elena Rybakina (+1000), and Jessica Pegula (+1000).

Iga Swiatek has struggled in recent weeks. At Wimbledon she went out at the quarter-final stage, losing in three sets to Elina Svitolina. She then won the Poland Open, an event skipped by most of the top women players.
But at the Canadian Open, she lost to Jessica Pegula in three sets at the semi-final stage. At the Cincinnati Masters, she also went out at the semi-final stage, losing to eventual winner Coco Gauff in three sets.
These are not awful results, but Swiatek has drawn attention from the legendary Martina Navratilova, who recently criticized the Pole’s claims that she is suffering from fatigue.

Our Women’s Picks
On the back of the No.1 seeds recent performances, we are giving Iga Swiatek a miss, and are instead looking to hedge our bets in the women’s competition.
First up, Jessica Pegula has been in good form lately. She has recently won the Canadian Open, and this is her home Grand Slam, which will give her extra motivation. At +1000, we think Pegula is worth a bet.
And also, we’re going for Aryna Sabalenka. The world number two hasn’t won many events lately, but she has been a consistent performer on the circuit. Sabalenka is closing in on Swiatek at the top of the world rankings, and her performances this season in all the Grand Slams have been impressive.
She started the year by winning the Australian Open, and she has also made the semi-finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon. In 2021 and 2022, she made the semi-final stage at Flushing Meadows, and we think at +500, she is worth a bet to improve on that record this year.
