Czech Liga Pro fixtures

There’s more Czech Pro League Table Tennis on Friday, and this week we’re following the grouping involving Milan Smesny, Richard Bonsch, Pavel Sprynar, and Stefan Samko. We feel there looks to be some value bets in the matches involving this quartet, and here we pick out the best ones in our latest table tennis betting picks.

  • The Czech Pro League is one of the most betting friendly table tennis leagues in the world. There are dozens of matches every day with competitors playing three to four times on their rostered days
  • The main betting markets are head-to-head, with handicap spreads, and total games (over/under) also available to bet on with selected bookmakers
  • We’re focusing on the matches involving Milan Smesny, Richard Bonsch, Pavel Sprynar, and Stefan Samko. All four are playing three times in Friday’s event

Milan Smesny looks the man to beat

As you can see from our Table Tennis odds table, the best Table Tennis online betting sites make Milan Smesny the favorite to win all four of his matches. In his last 12 matches, he has won six, and lost six. This included a four-match winning run last Saturday, within that run, he beat two of today’s opponents.

The odds table also shows that the matches involving Smesny’s opponents on Friday are all evenly matched. But Smesny’s odds to beat all three players are different .We’re hoping this will give us an edge when we come to name our picks.

Milan Smesny -153 vs Richard Bonsch +118

Smesny is favored to win all three of his games today, but we’re only backing him in this one. In his matches against Pavel Sprynar and Stefan Samko he is too short, so we think this match up represents better value.

Another reason we believe Smesny is a better bet in this match is because he has defeated Richard Bonsch in their two most recent meetings. Both were played last Saturday. Both matches went to five sets, but the score lines don’t totally tell the true story.

In the earlier match, Smesny won his three sets comfortably (11-3, 11-5, and 11-7). But apart from winning the opening set, Bonsch spent the whole match on the back foot. He won the first and fourth sets by score lines of 11-7 and 11-9. But the reality is that from the moment Smesny leveled the match at 1-1 (with an 11-3 set), Bonsch was always struggling.

In fairness to Richard Bonsch, he did push Smesny in the second game of the day. At two sets to nil down, Smesny had to dig deep to win the third set 12-10 and keep the game alive. Bonsch then somewhat fell away, allowing Smesny to win the fourth and fifth sets 11-8, to take the victory.

Results like that bode badly for Bonsch. He had victory there for the taking, and still managed to lose. This is why we think Smesny will beat him again today.

Pavel Sprynar -115 vs Stefan Samko -115

Sprynar defeated two of today’s opponents (Samko and Bonsch) in their last round of matches on Tuesday. In his match against Samko, Sprynar was a 3-2 winner in sets.

The match saw Samko race into a 2-1 lead in sets. But the out of form Czech couldn't press home his advantage and claim the win. In the fourth set, Sprynar won it 11-7, to level the match. And he then took the fifth set by the same scoreline to condemn Samko to - what was then - his seventh defeat in his last ten matches.

This kind of outcome seems to be a common feature amongst players in any sport when they’re on a poor run. They get themselves into a winning position, and then can’t complete the job. And on a run of eight defeats in his last 12, that’s where Samko now appears to be.

This means even here against Pavel Spynar, who has himself lost seven of his last 12, such is the form of Samko, we have to go for Sprynar to defeat Samko again. It can be the only pick based on form.

Richard Bonsch -115 vs Stefan Samko -115

Our final pick for today’s action is for Richard Bonsch to beat Stefan Samko. The two players met twice on Tuesday, with Bonsch coming out the winner on both occasions.

Fair enough, they were two 3-2 wins. One win was one of those matches that Samko should have won. And in the other, Bonsch smashed Samko 11-1 in the deciding set, after Samko won a tight fourth, to take it all the way.

Both defeats were bad for different reasons for Stefan Samko. To be on the verge of victory, only to end up losing is a bad experience that can erode confidence. Whilst losing 11-1 in a deciding set is equally as abysmal. Based on that evidence, we have to make Bonsch our betting pick.
