Bergneustadt

Bergneustadt have started the season well, winning both their matches 3-1. In round one they beat Grenzau and followed that up with an away win in Saarbrucken. The hosts won both meetings against Mulhausen last season and it wasnā€™t close. Both matches were comfortable 3-0 wins and another 3-0 this time will mean a return to the top of the Bundesliga table.

Bergneustadt finished last season a slightly disappointing 7th after losing their last two matches but they appear to be stronger this campaign.

Mulhausen

The visitors have had a poor start to the season but in fairness, their opposition has been strong. In round one, Bad Konigshofen beat them 3-0 and in round two they were 3-1 losers at home to Dortmund.

Mulhausen are probably due a win and they are quite an unpredictable team who can beat anyone on their day. That was evident at the end of last season when they won four matches in a row to rocket up the standings to an impressive fifth placed finish. Having said that, I believe Bergneustadt will have enough to get the victory.

German Bundesliga Table Tennis

The Bundesliga is the premier division in Germany's table tennis league system. The inaugural season took place in 1966-67. It featured 8 teams. The competition has been held annually ever since and the number of participating teams has varied over time. 12 teams will compete this season.

Each season is structured into two key phases. The Rankings and the Playoffs. Before the season begins, each team is required to register between 3 to 6 players and designate their positions. The positions range from the 1st to the 6th player. Players in positions 4 through 6 serve as substitutes.

Each match consists of 5 games using a best-of-three-sets format. The first four games are singles, while the fifth is a doubles match. The 1st player on each team is not allowed to participate in doubles. The doubles pairing is decided after the second singles game in each match.

During the Ranking Phase, teams play both home and away matches against every other team in the league. The top four teams at the end of this phase advance to the Playoffs, which consist of two rounds to determine the Bundesliga champion.

In the first playoff round, the team that finishes 1st plays the 4th-ranked team, while the 2nd-ranked team faces the 3rd-ranked team. These matchups can involve up to three games. The first team to lose two matches is eliminated. The first two games are held alternately at each team's home venue. The higher-seeded team chooses the location for the first game. If a third match is required, it will be hosted by the higher-ranked team.

The final round determines the champion. It is held at a neutral venue and consists of a single match.

Betting on Table Tennis

Although table tennis betting is typically focused on larger tournaments or major events, more sportsbooks are beginning to offer odds for key leagues. As the sport gains popularity, there's a growing opportunity to find good value, especially in some of the European leagues.
One of the most common betting options in table tennis is the moneyline. In this type of wager, the sportsbook assigns odds to each player or team, and bettors place a bet on who they believe will win the match. To win the bet, you must simply choose the correct winner outright.
