UCL Picks: Juventus Betting Odds vs PSV

Juventus are the favorites against PSV in this Champions League cup tie, but the Dutch side managed to place 6 spots higher in the league phase table. The best available line for PSV to win is (+334) at BetOnline, while Juve are lined at (-110). A draw pays out at (+260), a result that would suit PSV as they return to the Netherlands for the second leg.

Injuries Derailing Juve’s 2025 Season

A difficult season for Juventus has been compounded by a frustrating transfer window. The Old Lady are in search of replacements for their hobbling unit that has lost key players to injury. A year since sending Dean Huijsen to England sees Juventus struggling for defensive depth. As Huijsen leads Bournemouth to one of their most promising seasons in recent memory, Juve defensemen Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal find themselves in the infirmary.

In an emergency move, Juventus picked up Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle to bolster their backline. Kelly has struggled to find consistent time on the pitch. And to fan the flames further, Juve’s summer acquisitions have fallen flat. Nico Gonzalez and Douglas Luiz have both failed to put together strings of strong form.

What resulted was mediocrity from Juventus, with a record number of draws prohibiting the club from contending in Serie A despite avoiding league defeat until January. Now Juve must collect themselves and brace for impact as reinforcements will not be arriving this spring. Forget the Scudetto, Juve will have a fierce battle on their hands to remain in the Champions League next season.

Tough Draw for PSV in Knockout Stages of Champions League

PSV, who earned the 14th seed after the league phase, were likely none too pleased to see the Italian side chosen next to theirs as less intimidating clubs hid in the wings. Celtic, Feyenoord, Monaco and Brest all finished near Juve’s point total but fortune did the Dutch club no favors. But players will likely mention many of the same old adages, referencing the inevitability of playing the best to be the best. And given Juve’s injury issues, it is not the worst outcome as it may initially seem on paper.

Ricardo Pepi, an American international who was lighting up scoreboards in the Netherlands this year, is likely out for the season now. That leaves a big gap in the PSV attack, but Pepi did not start regularly. PSV did bolster their ranks in other areas, however.

Defender Tyrell Malacia is returning to the Netherlands in a loan deal with PSV from Man United. Malacia will look to provide some balance to a defense that has struggled a bit in recent games. He will also relish the opportunity to get consistent playing time after dealing with multiple knee surgeries in the past 18 months and sitting on the bench once he was healthy.

UCL Picks: Juventus Betting Prediction for Critical Home Match vs PSV

Juventus seems to have a perverse interest in level scorelines, as exemplified by their 13 league draws and 3 Champions League draws. Both tallies are the most in each competition. Interestingly, PSV has already played at Allianz Stadium this season. These two highlighted sides met in September of last year in the first matchday of the Champions League, as Juve picked up a 3-1 win.

But Juventus looks much different now due to various injuries and acquisitions. PSV are unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions and should present a much stiffer test than their summer selves.

My projections, albeit somewhat less trustworthy for the Champions League given the immaturity of the 8-match dataset, has PSV +0.5 at (-128). The current line offers some value on PSV to pick up at least a draw. Considering Juve will likely play more conservatively to avoid playing with a deficit in the Netherlands next week, the draw is even more likely. Add on the fact that Juve games end level more than most teams in recent history, and my model tends to slightly underrepresent draws, and PSV is the clear play in this spot.

The line has not moved too much, but I don’t expect it to. Only this weekend’s results will really make a firm impact on the Juventus betting odds vs PSV, especially if something cataclysmic takes place. With all these factors in mind, I believe a wager on PSV in the asian handicap market is a wise one. Go with PSV +0.5, available at (-102) at top online sportsbook BetOnline.
