Chelsea (+120) vs. Liverpool (+215)

Costa

Chelsea lost their 100% winning record last weekend when they drew 2-2 away at Swansea City, a game they should have won quite easily. There were spells in that game where Chelsea looked like world beaters, but in equal measure the frailties of last season were there for all to see.

A win for Chelsea could see them go top of the league if only until Manchester City play Bournemouth a day later, so expect the Blues to do all they can to secure all three points against their Merseyside opponents.

Liverpool demolished reigning champions Leicester City 4-1 at home last weekend and look awesome going forwards once again. However, Klopp’s style of play, and the player he has at his disposal, mean Liverpool always look like conceding a goal; they have let in seven in their opening four fixtures.

This game ended with a 1-3 loss for Chelsea last season, but I think it will be much closer this time around. In fact, I like the draw at +125. I’m also a fan of the over 2.5 goals at -135, and the 2-2 draw at a huge +1050.

You can also get +120 on Diego Costa scoring during the match, and this looks a good bet because he seems back to his brilliant best.

Pick: Draw at +125 and Diego Costa to score at anytime at +120.

Everton (-145) vs. Middlesbrough (+400)

Lukaku

High flying Everton are full of confidence right now, as your team would be had they won 3-0 on the road, that victory coming against Sunderland in midweek.

Romelu Lukaku bagged a hat trick in that game, the big Belgian’s first goals since March. Lukaku is a confidence player, one who on his day is almost unstoppable, making the +350 on him opening the scoring a good bet and the +115 on Lukaku scoring at any time also a wise investment.

Middlesbrough have started life in the Premier League with a win, two draws, and a loss, but they are yet to play a team with Everton’s quality and I can see them struggling in this game, particularly as three of the four goals they have scored this season have come against the awful defences of Sunderland and Stoke City.

I’m looking at the Everton win at -145, both teams not to score at -125, Lukaku to score during 90-minutes at +115, and Everton to record a shutout win at +115.

Pick: Everton to record a shutout win at +115

Tottenham Hotspur (-325) vs. Sunderland (+850)

Spurs

Tottenham have been hit-or-miss so far this season, drawing 1-1 against both Liverpool and Everton, struggling to beat Crystal Palace 1-0, then smashing Stoke City 4-0.

One thing working against Spurs is they had a tough Champions League game against Monaco at Wembley Stadium in midweek, but that said, they are playing a Sunderland side who looked doomed for relegation after only four games of the season.

Spurs beat Sunderland 4-1 at White Hart Lane last season and I would expect a similar story this time around. David Moyes has an almost impossible task on his hands to keep Sunderland in the Premier League and his job won’t be any easier this weekend.

-150 on a Tottenham half time/full time win looks better than the short-priced Spurs victory, and the +180 on Tottenham to win both halves also represents value.

Don’t be tempted by the +850 available for a Sunderland win, there will be no other result than a home win here.

Pick: Tottenham Hotspur to win both halves at +180
