Champions League Final Moneyline Prediction
The early odds on Chelsea-Manchester City imply this will be a non-fight. Linemakers have given Manchester City a massive advantage.
On the one hand, we get it. And yet, Chelsea's defense this year is terrifying. They have allowed only four goals and know how to punt the ball out of their own territory whenever they get stops.
Goalkeeper Édouard Mendy can routinely send the ball downfield more than 40 yards, and he has become an expert post protector in high-leverage situations. So far, he has racked up nine stops on crosses that have reached the penalty area—the third-most in the Championship League.
Still, the door is open for Manchester City to leave its mark. Chelsea has seen their defense break down, at times, near the middle of the pitch. More than that, their offense has not exactly steamrolled their opponents. They are averaging under two goals per 90 minutes, just barely putting them in the top 10.
Chelsea does do a good job of spreading the wealth. Four players have tallied five or more goals this season: Jorginho, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner, and Kurt Zouma. But they could stand to get a little more playmaking out of their middle-rotation midfielders.
Manchester City, on the other hand, is more lethal with its offense. They are averaging a flat two goals per 90 minutes and have more passing threats on the docket. Five of their players have tallied at least seven scores: İlkay Gündoğan, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden.
Mahrez, in particular, might be the biggest dual threat between the two teams. He has scored or assisted on six goals over Manchester City's last five games:

Ederson also gives Manchester City its own force between the posts. They, too, have allowed just four total goals, tying them with Chelsea for the Champions League's stingiest mark. Sure, Chelsea is better at ending opponent possessions and is less vulnerable to corner kicks and shots taken outside the penalty era. But Manchester City isn't fielding a defense with a surplus of glaring weaknesses.
Now is a good time to capitalize on their odds. Chelsea might be a noticeable underdog, but Manchester City's favorite status has yet to catch up with it. They're laying close to even money.
OSB Prediction: Manchester City (-105)
Champions League Final Spread Prediction
Here is the current spread for Manchester City vs. Chelsea:
- Chelsea: +0.5 (-110)
- Manchester City: -0.5 (-110)
For us, this selection is pretty straightforward. It should be the same deal for you, too. If Manchester City wins, they have to cover a half-goal spread.
The calculus changes if you want to roll the dice on a potential tie. That pays out +245. We just don't see it heading to a draw when Manchester City's offense is so darn potent.
OSB Prediction: Manchester City, -0.5 (-110)
Champions League Final Over/Under Prediction
Check out the current over/under for the Manchester City vs. Chelsea:
- Over 2.5: +110
- Under 2.5: -130
Many bettors are going to aggressively work the under. These two teams have allowed just eight total goals between them. What are the odds they let up nearly half that in a single game?
Better than you think.
Manchester City's offense is built to rack up multiple scores against even the toughest defenses. That makes them over super attractive in the event Chelsea tallies just one goal. And given that they've been shut out just once over their past six matches, we're inclined to think they'll do just that.
If you're feeling really spicy, you can parlay the over at +110 with Manchester City's -105 moneyline. That combination will turn a $310 in pure profit for every $100 you wager.
OSB Prediction: Over 2.5 (+110)
