Gallagher Premiership favorites

Below you'll find a list of favorites to win the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership.

Bath - (+110)

Bath haven't been crowned Premiership champions since back in 1996, but they have come incredibly close in recent years to ending that hoodoo.

In the 2023/24 season, they made it to the playoffs with an 11-7 record and defeated the Sale Sharks in the semi-final before falling at the final hurdle against Northampton. But they have bounced back this season, and with five games remaining, they have already matched their 11 wins total.

They currently sit ten points clear of their nearest rivals, and that means that, barring any sort of implosion in the run-in, they should have home advantage in the semi-finals, which will give them a big edge to make a second consecutive final.

If they make it there, which they have every chance of doing, they will certainly be the favorites no matter the opposition. Finn Russell has been flying all season, and at the time of writing, he is the top scorer in the competition, and he could be the man to lead them back to glory.

At +110, the value isn't the greatest, but they are the heavy favorites for a reason,n and you may not get a better price, so it's certainly one to look at.

Saracens - (+300)

Saracens have been one of the most successful teams in recent Premiership history, having claimed four titles in five years during the 2010s, and they had some great form last season too. They claimed 11 wins from 18 games and picked up the best point differential in the league of +135, but they suffered a shock loss to eventual champions Northampton in the first round of the playoffs.

This year, though, they have struggled, and at the time of writing, they have a 7-6 record with a -17 points differential, which is undoubtedly a huge drop-off in form from 2023/24.

With five games remaining, however, they have some favorable fixtures that could help them climb the table in the final weeks and secure a playoff spot - and if they get there, then they have every opportunity of beating the top teams if they're on song.

Losing Owen Farrell and the Vunipola brothers last year has hit them hard, and the rest of the team hasn't stepped up as they wished. The +300 value simply isn't good enough when considering what a turnaround it would need for them to be crowned champions, so this is certainly a bet to avoid at this stage.

Bristol Bears - (+550)

When you look past Bath as the clear favorites, the next best opportunity for bettors is to back Bristol to claim their first ever Premiership Rugby championship.

So far this season, Bristol has the second-best regular-season record at 8-5, while also having a +50 points differential, and they look to be in a good place to make it to the playoffs. One thing that could see this price drop off is the fact that the Bears are yet to face off with Bath this season - a fixture which will take place in Week 16.

Seeing how they match up man-to-man against the current favorites will be very interesting, and if they're successful, then it could see the price drop massively, knowing a potential rematch is only around the corner.

Kalaveti Ravouvou is the top try scorer in the 2024/25 season so far with eight (tied with Tom Roebuck), and that is always a good ace to have up your sleeve in tight games. Defensively, they're awful, though. With 415 points against, only the basement team, Newcastle Falcons have allowed more points to be scored against them.

But offensively, they seem to be the only team that can compete - their total of 470 points scored is only 17 shy of Bath's league-leading 487.

Considering they're the second-best performing team in the regular season, they have the second-best offense and have the best try-scorer in the league, they're contenders. As mentioned, the price may change in the coming weeks, so this may be the best chance to get +550 on Bristol to make history and go all the way for the first time.
