Carolina Chaos (+130)

In their PLL Lacrosse quarter-final matchup, the Carolina Chaos secured an 8-4 victory over the Boston Cannons.

During the 48 minutes of play, the Chaos managed to hold the Cannons—who boasted the league’s top two-point scoring offense in the regular season—to just four goals. Remarkably, Carolina achieved this without their three-time first-team All-Pro defender Jack Rowlett, who was suspended for the game.

Will Bowen delivered an outstanding performance, limiting Asher Nolting to a single point, while Troy Reh played a crucial role by keeping Marcus Holman scoreless on three attempts.

Goaltender Blaze Riorden, a finalist for the Oren Lyons Goaltender of the Year, was in top form, recording 15 saves with an impressive 78.9% save rate, effectively stifling the Cannons' offense throughout the game.

With this victory, Carolina advances to the Cash App Playoff semifinals, where they will face the reigning champion Utah Archers this Saturday on Long Island. Securing another win will be a significant challenge for the Chaos.

Utah Archers (-165)

The Utah Archers are focused on a return to Philadelphia, with their sights set on claiming the Cash App Championship Trophy for a second consecutive year. Standing in their way is the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

If the Archers succeed in defending their title, it will likely be due to standout performances from Grant Ament and Connor Fields during the Cash App Playoffs.

The Archers' offense will have a different look with Tom Schreiber sidelined. However, Fields and Ament, both former first-team All-Pros, remain top-tier threats capable of leading Utah's attack.

Fields was a force to be reckoned with this summer, notching seven hat tricks in 10 regular-season games. He is one of the game’s most skilled dodgers, capable of scoring from a wide range of angles, release points, and positions on the field. Fields is never out of a play and can surprise opponents with his deep repertoire of moves.

Over the 2020, 2021, and 2022 PLL Lacrosse seasons, Fields averaged 2.1 points per game. However, since the start of 2023, he’s been on a tear, boosting his average to 3.6 points per game. After missing most of last year’s postseason due to a shoulder injury in the semifinals, Fields is eager to make his mark this time around.

Ament has excelled since making the full-time switch to midfield. He was the highest-scoring midfielder in the regular season and is a finalist for Gait Brothers Midfielder of the Year.

After averaging 20.8 touches per game over the first eight games, the Penn State alum stepped up to 28 touches per game in Salt Lake City with Schreiber out. As Utah’s primary initiator out of the box, Ament will be crucial in filling the void left by the three-time MVP.

Ament is no stranger to postseason pressure. His 11 combined points in the 2023 semifinals and championship game were key to securing the Archers’ first title. Now, after a year of learning the midfield role under Schreiber’s guidance, Ament is ready to take charge and lead Utah in their quest for a second championship.
