The 2023 Premier League Darts roadshow is in Scotland this week with the players competing at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow. Chris Dobey beat Michael van Gerwen in the final of Week 1, and Gerwyn Price won Week 2 in his native Wales, beating Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in Cardiff. MVG is again the favorite to win this week, but after two failed attempts, can he finally win on Week 3? Let's take a look with our latest free Darts betting picks.

After winning in Cardiff last week, Price will be looking to build on his success. But standing in his way of going back-to-back is Michael Smith who started 2023 on fire, winning not only the World Championship, but also the Bahrain Darts Masters, just ten days later.
The full quarter-final line up is:
- Nathan Aspinall vs Michael van Gerwen
- Peter Wright vs Dimitri Van den Bergh
- Gerwyn Price vs Michael Smith
- Jonny Clayton vs Chris Dobey
This week's quarter-final matchups have really opened up the draw for the other six competitors. With one of Price or Smith guaranteed to be out at the first hurdle, Michael van Gerwen will fancy his chances even more against Nathan Aspinall, this despite Aspinall making the final in Cardiff.
Michael van Gerwen is in good form, and he knows it. Even though the competition was won by Price last week, MVG knows he let the Welshman off the hook in their semi-final. So the Dutchman knows he's playing well enough. His only problem is he's not killing off his opponents when he's on top.
Peter Wright represents Scotland at Darts, and he will be hoping his homecoming might ignite that spark that seems to have been missing in recent months. Wright knows he has a great chance of progressing against outsider Dimitri Van den Bergh.
And in the fourth quarter-final, the clash between Jonny Clayton and Chris Dobey looks to be an opportunity for whoever can win this tight looking encounter to go deep in the night's competition.
Pick to win on the night
In the betting to win on the night, MVG is again the favorite. And it's easy to see why the best online sports betting sites have him in pole postition. Michael van Gerwen is +200, with his closest rivals, Michael Smith at +400, and Gerwyn Price at +450. Behind the leading three is Peter Wright who is +550. MVG's quarter-final opponent, Nathan Aspinall brings up the rear on +1400.
Premier League Darts; Night 3 Winner Betting | |||
---|---|---|---|
Michael van Gerwen | +200 | +180 | +200 |
Michael Smith | +400 | +400 | +400 |
Gerwyn Price | +450 | +450 | +450 |
Peter Wright | +550 | +550 | +550 |
Jonny Clayton | +900 | +900 | +900 |
Dimitri Van den Bergh | +1200 | +1200 | +1300 |
Chris Dobey | +1200 | +1200 | +1200 |
Nathan Aspinall | +1400 | +1400 | +1400 |
With MVG's two main rivals playing each other, surely we have to make the Dutchman our betting pick to win this? He has lacked that killer instinct in the opening two weeks of the 2023 Premier League. But that won't last forever, so we have to make Michael van Gerwen our pick to win on the night.

Aspinall @ +240 vs van Gerwen @ -285
Onto our quarter-final picks, and the first match sees MVG taking on Nathan Aspinall. We've already picked van Gerwen to win on the night, so we obviously have to go with him to win his quarter-final as well. He might not be great value at -285. So if you are backing him to win the tournament on the night, maybe this might be a bet worth leaving.
Wright @ -155 vs Van den Bergh @ +135
If it wasn't for the fact that we've already gone with MVG to win on the night, Peter 'Snakebite' Wright would have come into the reckoning for our pick. Yes, the two times world champion has been out of form lately, but this is just the sort of night that could see him bounce back in spectacular style.
Wright has lost in the quarter-finals of both weeks so far. He went down 6-3 to Chris Dobey in Belfast, and by the same scoreline to Nathan Aspinall in Cardiff last Thursday. That run has to end soon and we think Wright will at the very least make it to the semi-final this week.
Price @ -107 vs Smith @ -113
The fixture of the night, and one which sees the best online Darts betting sites struggling to separate the two players.
Last week's winner in Cardiff, Gerwyn Price is the slight outsider at -107, with Michael Smith, the newly crowned PDC World Champion, at -113.
So far in the Premier League, Smith has lost 6-4 to Aspinall in the semi-final of Week 2, and 6-3 to MVG in the quarter-final on the opening night.
As disappointing as the loss to van Gerwen was, that can happen to anyone. But the new world champ will really be annoyed at losing to Aspinall in last week's semi-final, and we think Michael Smith will go some way to making amends for that loss by beating Price in the night's big showdown.
Clayton @ -130 vs Dobey +110
After his shock win on the opening night of the Premier League Darts season, Chris Dobey followed that up by pushing Gerwyn Price all the way in the quarter-final last week, only losing 6-5 to the night's eventual winner.
As for Jonny Clayton, he's gone out at the quarter-final stage in both opening weeks of the season. He lost 6-2 to Dimitri Van den Bergh in Week 1, and 6-3 to Michael Smith last Thursday. Clayton's poor run of form will no doubt end at some point, but we think Chris Dobey is the better value pick in this match.
