Now, the Americans do not field quite the same team but it is hard to dispute or count out what the skip can do. Germany and Switzerland are the same. With Italy and even Scotland potentially taking a step back, does that open the door for a few teams?
These 13 teams will be thrown into a round-robin tournament where they all play each other once (12 total games per team). The top six teams from this stage go into the postseason — with number one and two finishers earning a direct bye into the semi-finals. The playoffs are a classic single-game elimination bracket until there’s a 2025 champion.
Best Long Shot Bets To Win 2025 Men’s Curling Championship
Making multiple bets on the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship remains the wisest move. With the knockout nature of the playoffs, one bet almost guarantees a loss. People were hoping for a better number but +2200 is still not bad. Expect updates to shorten and keep an eye out for those. Do not be surprised if Germany makes more of a splash this time around.
United States
Men's World Curling Longshot Bets look toward the United States next. Zero pressure exists for the Italians. Currently, they are the No. 6 ranked team in the sport, but one can never quite count out the long-standing veteran. Shuster won bronze in Turin (Italy) in 2006 and then won gold in the 2018 Olympics (South Korea). In a tournament where anything can happen, the United States could surprise a few times like they did last year.
However, again some are surprised they are getting numbers similar to Germany. The Americans are four years removed from the 2021 World's where they might have won if not for COVID. Several of their players got sick before a crucial match against Sweden and the team was not the same.
Bluntly, while the United States numbers may get longer quickly, they are not a disastrous pick by any means.
Switzerland
Switzerland comes in as a fun team with potential. The team and Yannick Schwaller came so close to getting into the playoff qualifiers. A 6-6 record in 2024 was respectable but not where the Swiss want to be. Some argued Norway could be the surprise here but the Swiss have a little more experience and have one of the best shot percentages over the past 12 months.
This is a team that won Bronze at the 2023 World Championships. It was a team that was within a whisker of the Final where again anything can happen. Schwaller can get this team into the playoffs where again, anything can happen. It comes down to the late ends.
