The World Snooker Tour Championship is currently underway in Manchester, running from April 1 to 7, showcasing the top 12 players of the season. Among the notable contenders are Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump, the latter recently securing his fifth ranking title of the season. Other prominent players such as John Higgins, Mark Allen, Ding Junhui, and Mark Williams are also in the mix. Reigning world champion Luca Brecel did not manage to secure a spot in the tournament.
Mark Allen completed an impressive comeback against John Higgins in their first round clash and now takes on Ding Junhui in a highly anticipated matchup.
- What? Mark Allen vs. Ding Junhui, World Snooker Tour Championship Quarter-Final
- Where? Manchester Central, England
- When? April 3, 2024
Below, you can see the odds for the match from three of the best sports betting sites.
Mark Allen (-150)
Mark Allen staged a remarkable comeback to defeat John Higgins with a scoreline of 10-7 in the opening round of the 2024 Tour Championship. Initially facing a 4-1 deficit, Allen managed to level the match at 4-4 heading into the evening session. With impressive resilience, he ultimately secured victory with a 10-7 triumph. This victory now paves the way for an exciting quarter-final clash against Ding Junhui.
Allen didn’t look at his fluent best at times against Higgins but showed resilience and it was an impressive fight back.
Ding Junhui (+120)
Ding lost 10-4 to Judd Trump in the World Open and will be determined to get back on track.
Despite the setback of the loss, Ding showed his class in certain moments of the match. A sensational 106 break to close out the first session was the highlight.
Ding Junhui along with Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Zhang Anda are the top four seeds and therefore begin in the last eight.
I think Ding will get the win and the odds of +120 represent good value.

A correct score bet can boost the odds massively. It is a much more speculative bet but a 10-7 win for Ding is at odds of +900
Snooker Tour Championship
The 2024 Tour Championship is a prestigious professional snooker tournament held from April 1 to 7, 2024, at the Manchester Central in Manchester, England. Serving as the 16th and penultimate ranking event of the 2023–24 season, it marks the culmination of the Players Series, following the World Grand Prix and the Players Championship. The coveted title comes with a grand prize of £150,000, out of a total prize pool of £500,000.
This year's event showcases an expanded field, featuring the top 12 players based on the one-year ranking list after the conclusion of the World Open. This represents an increase from previous editions, which typically included eight competitors. Notably, Shaun Murphy, the winner of the 2023 tournament who defeated Kyren Wilson 10-7 in the final, did not qualify for the 2024 edition.
Snooker Tour Championship Format
The event has undergone modifications to its format compared to previous years. This time, the top 12 players from the one-year ranking list post the World Open have secured participation. This is a departure from the previous eight-player format. The top four players from this list receive automatic seeding into the quarter-finals, while the remaining eight players compete in the first round for the remaining four quarter-final slots.
Each match follows a best-of-19 frames format, conducted over two sessions. Unlike prior editions where both sessions occurred on a single day, for this event, two of the four first-round matches and two of the four quarter-finals will extend over two days.
Shaun Murphy clinched victory last year by defeating compatriot Kyren Wilson with a score of 10-7 in the final. However, Murphy's ranking at 22nd on the one-year list following the World Open meant he did not qualify for the 2024 event.
