Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers bring their 12-10-0 record to the Windy City on Wednesday evening as they battle it out with the slumping Chicago Blackhawks, who are losers of seven in a row and desperately need a win. The Oilers are unbeaten in back-to-back games after beating the Florida Panthers in overtime on Monday evening thanks to Leon Draisaitl, who scored in the extra period. The Hawks meanwhile fell 7-2 on Sunday to the Winnipeg Jets as their struggles on both ends of the ice continued. Find the Oilers vs Blackhawks prediction below.

Edmonton vs Chicago Betting Outlook
The Oilers aren't off to the greatest start but sitting in fourth place in the always-competitive Pacific Division isn't all bad, either. Edmonton is two games above .500 have thrived going forward, ranking 12th in goals scored with 3.36 per game. None other than McDavid is leading the way with 17 goals and 22 assists in 22 games, while his co-star, Draisaitl has netted 13 times and provided 20 assists. These two account for a lot of Edmonton's offense but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is having a solid year as well, scoring nine and providing another 14. But as past years, the Oilers aren't so stable defensively. Their blue line is allowing 3.55 goals per night which ranks 25th in the NHL. On Monday, McDavid got his squad on the scoresheet in the second period to tie things up before a wild third where four goals were scored. The Panthers and Oilers went back and forth and that resulted in OT. Of course, McDavid assisted Draisaitl's goal to grab a much-needed victory. Edmonton is just 5-5 in their last 10 games however and needs to find some consistency. After all, this team was on the brink of making a Stanley Cup last season. While it's still early, more is expected of a group with two of the best players in the league.
The Blackhawks traded away several key players last offseason which signaled a rebuild was in the works. And although Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews remain on the roster, it's clear Chicago is in the midst of tearing it down and starting from scratch. Their 6-11-4 record is certainly nothing to write home about and they're looking very poor in all aspects. The Hawks are second-last in goals scored with just 2.48 per contest and aren't any better on the opposite end of the ice, conceding 3.62 goals per game. There is really nothing to be excited about if you're a Chicago fan at the moment.
Kane and Toews are older now and it would be unfair to rely on them, but both guys are still managing to be relatively productive, combining for 11 goals and 18 assists. Sure, the Blackhawks would love to turn things around, but it's unlikely. At this point, it just comes down to ending this brutal seven-game skid. The blowout defeat to Winnipeg was downright embarrassing, allowing four goals in the second period alone. The only positive heading into Wednesday is that Chicago has won three of their last five against Edmonton. Perhaps this is where they end the cold streak.
Oilers vs Blackhawks Prediction
Edmonton isn't only winning right now, but they're flourishing ATS. I'm liking them to take advantage of a poor Chicago team.
