With the NHL All-Star festivities having concluded over the weekend in Florida, it's time for the second half of the season. All the action begins on Monday and one of the best teams in the league is in action, the Dallas Stars. They will play host to one of the worst clubs around, the Anaheim Ducks. The puck drops at 8:30 PM ET at the American Airlines Center. Dallas has actually lost three in a row but the short break will hopefully get them back on track. As for Anaheim, they've won three straight but still have a mere 16 victories on the season. Keep reading for the Ducks vs Stars prediction.

Ducks vs Stars Odds
By no surprise, Dallas is a heavy favorite here. They've got moneyline odds of -339 at Betonline. That's an implied win probability of 77.22%. The Ducks come back at +296 and have a mere 25.25% chance of taking this one.
Also, history is on the Stars' side, winning six of the last seven. But, their most recent meeting went Anaheim's way by a score of 2-0 in early January.
Anaheim vs Dallas Preview
The Ducks don't have much to be happy about in 2022-23. They own the third-worst record in the NHL at 16-29-2, which puts them in 15th place in the Western Conference. Anaheim ranks dead last in goals scored and goals allowed. That just sums up their campaign. Perhaps they'll be bad enough to potentially land projected top pick Connor Bedard in the draft, though. On a more positive note, Dallas Eakins' team was playing some decent hockey prior to the All-Star break, beating the Arizona Coyotes on two occasions and the Colorado Avalanche. The Ducks actually managed to find some offense during this latest streak, scoring 12 times while conceding six. All-Star Troy Terry is one of their best players with 13 goals and 29 assists, while Trevor Zegras has 18 goals and 24 assists. Adam Henrique has found the back of the net 18 times, too. Winning in Dallas isn't easy, but Anaheim will undoubtedly have some confidence heading into Monday's matchup.
The Stars are looking like one of the top contenders to come out of the Western Conference, currently sitting in first place and just one point above the Winnipeg Jets. Dallas boasts an 8-13-10 record and ranks top five in the fewest goals allowed, power play percentage, faceoff percentage, and penalty kill percentage. Their attack is full of top-notch talent too, with Jason Robertson leading the charge with an insane 33 goals and 33 assists. Roope Hintz has also notched 20 goals, while Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin, and Wyatt Johnston are all in double figures when it comes to scoring as well. This is a very well-rounded offense down in Texas. While three straight defeats don't look good on paper for the Stars, all of them were 3-2 scorelines and in overtime to the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, and New Jersey Devils. After more than a week off, you can surely expect Dallas to bounce back at home and get back on track.
Ducks vs Stars Prediction
I personally don't see any way the Ducks will beat Dallas here. I do expect the Stars to come out with a ton of fire after a much-needed break. They will put their best foot forward. However, the moneyline offers minimal value for bettors. That's why I'm looking at the puck line of 1.5 (-125) at Bovada. Dallas should be able to cover.
