And, well, we have to agree. Our Week 11 Monday Night NFL picks are in, and the believe the Bucs will have no trouble dispatching the Giants.
Let's take a look at the latest Monday Night Football betting odds, courtesy of BetOnline:
Make sure you're confirming these NFL betting odds before settling on any NFL picks. This holds true whether you're using BetOnline or another betting site from our list of sportsbook reviews. Bucs vs. Giants Betting Picks
Rather than just focus on the Bucs-Giants moneyline odds, we will also be making NFL Monday Night Football picks for the betting spread and the game's over/under. Basically, when we're done, we'll have every nook and cranny of New York-Tampa Bay Game covered.
Giants Have Little Chance of Upsetting Bucs
If linemakers are worried about the Bucs, who currently remain among the top Super Bowl betting odds favorites, they're not showing it here. Bettors need to wager a whopping $505 just to profit $100 off a Tampa Bay victory.
Though the overall outcome is not surprising, this moneyline feels a tad steep. The Bucs are coming off consecutive losses to the New Orleans Saints and Washington Football Team, a small stretch through which their defense has shown some cracks just about everywhere. Tampa Bay is allowing 33.5 points per game during this brief losing streak.
The Giants, for their part, are coming off a Buy Week that was preceded by a riveting Week 9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. They have for the most part been one of the league's worst teams all year, but after winning two of three games, is it possible they're turning a corner?
We lean no. At least, we don't think they'll take down the Bucs. Tampa Bay has not lost three straight games at all during the Tom Brady era, and they still have the third-ranked offense in the NFL. We're willing to chalk up their 19-point slog in Week 10 to a team that was working off the rust following their Buy Week.
OSB Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-505)
Spread Pick
Here's a look at the current point spread for Giants-Bucs:
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-11.5): +100
- New York Giants (+11.5): -120
Spreads that approach almost two touchdowns are difficult this time of year. Players are banged up. Teams are more concerned about maintaining leads than continuing to pile on. And so on and so forth.
The Bucs have just one victory by 12 or more points since Week 6, which no doubt should factor into your thought process. The Giants, meanwhile, are showing signs of life on defense. They're allowing an average of 13 points per game across their past three performances and are 12th in the league in net yards allowed per passing attempt.
We would feel better about calling for New York to cover if they weren't on the road. They've suffered some truly monstrous losses against good teams when playing on enemy ground. They did recently put up a 20-17 fight against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8, but that's not enough evidence to tilt all the way in their favor.
What's more, Tampa Bay is a perfect 4-0 at home this season. And over the course of those four victories, they're outscoring teams by an average of 19 points.
OSB Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -11.5 (-110)
Bet on Giants-Bucs Eclipsing Over
Here's a look at the latest over/under odds for Giants-Bucs:
- Over 50: -110
- Under 50: -110
The Giants hold the key to this over/under. We know the Bucs should score right around their season average, even with as well as New York's defense is playing. That's 30ish points off the board right there.
Can the Giants make up the difference? That's the question. And it's tough to answer. Daniel Jones continues to be among the league's most inconsistent quarterbacks, which hasn't left New York with much of a passing attack. The team as a whole is averaging under 20 points per game for the year.
Still, the Bucs have proven to be quite forgiving on the defensive side in recent weeks. And even at their best, they tend to give up more yards and touchdowns through the air than 80 percent of the NFL. Conservatively invest in the over.
OSB Prediction: Bucs-Giants goes over 50 (-110)
