Patriots vs Titans Bets Are Not Afraid To Get Ugly

Patriots vs Titans bets are not afraid to get ugly. The Patriots looked lethargic in the first half against the Jets. When New York knocked out Drake Maye (concussion), things were expected to get even worse. Instead, Jacoby Brissett came in and ignited a second half comeback. New England scored 18 points over the final 30 minutes in an unexpected 25-22 win over their AFC East rivals. It gave the Patriots their second win of the 2024 season and first since Week 1.

On the other hand, Tennessee suffered yet another loss and quite the embarrassing one on Sunday. The Titans were in Detroit. At least, that is what the schedule told us. Anyway, Detroit piled up 52 points in a through 38-point demolition of the Titans. That dropped Tennessee to 1-6 on the season as they seem resigned to their fate of battling for the top draft pick for 2025.

Now, Tennessee knows the division and playoffs are pretty much a lost cause. With Brian Callahan and some management on the hot seat, the Titans want to win this game. So, Tennessee has lost three close games this season. It does seem the bye week took some wind out of their sails. Losing to the Colts was one thing but looking lifeless against the Bills and Lions was inexcusable. Expect a better effort from Tennessee this week and they did beat a similar Miami team easily in Week 4.

Keep an eye on the injury situation with Drake Maye but if Brissett plays, Tennessee will be ready for what figures to be a more run-heavy Patriots attack. Take the Titans laying 3.5 points here. It will be risky.

Trying For The Under In Nashville

Next, Patriots vs Titans bets ponder trying for the under in Nashville. The Titans and Patriots do not exactly produce a lot of points offensively. New England got a little lucky last week when the Jets tried to get a bit cute in the second half. There is something about the Jets defense oddly falling apart when it counts in games. Then, there is Tennessee who will not want to get humiliated for a third week in a row.

Teneesee's defense is actually pretty good if one throws out the past couple of weeks. New England is certainly not Buffalo or Detroit. Even with those numbers tossed in, the Titans top the league in passing yards allowed and only give up a respectable 4.3 yards a carry. New England's defense is a bit more porous but is mostly in the middle of the pack when it comes to metrics. Remember that offensively, both teams are near the bottom especially in the passing department.

The game total comes in at 37.5 and this makes things interesting. If one is exploring potential alternatives this early in the week, this is probably not quite the game to risk such an idea. Tennessee was on the verge of an easy Under during Week 4 against Miami. Then, something strange happened. It was hard to explain but suddenly the Titans got to 31 points somehow and Under bettors were left scratching their heads.

Numbers will not move too much unless Drake Maye clears protocol and plays. That will be something to keep an eye on. For now, a very modest bet on the Under at 37.5 is probably more reasonable.

Some Props To Keep On One's Radar

So, the Patriots vs Titans bets look at some props to keep on one's radar. This hopes to give bettors some ideas on what to pursue and maybe what to stay away from. Now, here lies a Week 9 matchup that could be a slugfest in every sense of the word. These teams do have pride despite their records.

The plan is to look at that interception prop especially with Tennessee. It does not matter the quarterback but the Titans seem to throw an interception a game. They lead the league with 10 in 2024. This expects to not come in at a great number, yet feels like a good wager to make. Any passing Under prop can be something to look around for as well.

Now, field goal props may be another avenue. Nick Folk is 9-for-9 on the season and has quite the leg. If drives stall, he could get at least two field goals. His point total will probably be around 7.5. It may be close but eight or more points is very possible here.
