Bengals vs Ravens Bets Wonder What Could Be

Bengals vs Ravens bets wonder what could be. How does Baltimore bounce back from one of the stranger losses of the 2024-25 NFL season? It's a great question. The Ravens had rattled off five straight wins and then laid an egg against the Cleveland Browns of all teams. Baltimore won last week over Denver with a resounding 41-10 rout. Despite that, the Ravens still were a bit incensed that they lost to the Browns.

On the other hand, the Bengals started off 1-4 after a dramatic and crazy overtime loss to the Ravens. Since then, Cincinnati has won three of four contests to get close to .500. Yes, a win would get the Bengals back to even. However, there is a lot of uncertainty with the team. Does Tee Higgins finally get traded before the deadline? At press time, that was not clear. Furthermore, Joe Burrow does like playing the Ravens. That is a bit of a concern.

Now, the Ravens need this game to keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The reality is that Baltimore hopes that Washington can find a way to defeat the Steelers at home on Sunday. That may be one of those games which sees some not so good weather conditions. Expect better weather on Thursday night in Baltimore and calmer winds. Passing games will not get impacted much too. The field will be nice and dry.

Baltimore and Cincinnati should be pretty close for most of the way. However, the Ravens want to desperately prove that last week's demolition of the Broncos was not a fluke. Simply, Baltimore wants to go on another winning streak to get closer to the division title and an eventual top seed in the second season. Baltimore by a touchdown late is a decent play.

Bengals And Ravens Going Over The Total

So, Bengals vs Ravens bets tease going over the total this week  The Bengals and Ravens want to push the pace. Unlike what we saw last Thursday, the Texans and Jets displayed how not to score in the first half then the points picked up. However, it was too late. Cincinnati has to attack the Ravens' passing defense while Baltimore can beat a team through the air or on the ground. Baltimore arguably possesses one of the best rushing attacks of the last decade.

The big concern is that game total. Yes, 53 seems like a high number and 53.5 even more. However, there have been several times where the same thing has been mentioned about a Baltimore game total. Despite those odds, the Ravens and their opponent have found a way. See that Ravens and Buccaneers game from a couple weeks back.

The game total expects to move between 52 and 54 this week. Cincinnati knows they have to outscore their defense while Baltimore has shown more often than not that they can. Yes, the unthinkable could happen and both defenses suddenly find their way. However, that is not likely. Both rank in the bottom third in points allowed while the two offenses are among the Top 7 in the NFL. It is the old saying they are what we thought they are.

Numbers will not shift much between now and Thursday night. The feeling is movement here is not something bettors should be very concerned about. The Ravens could easily score 35+ points by themselves here. Get the 53.5 while you can and take a shot on this.

Mulling Over A Few Rushing Props

Okay, the Bengals vs Ravens bets start mulling over a few rushing props. This becomes simple for Thursday night. Why? Bluntly, Baltimore wants to run the ball a little more. They average 5.9 yards per carry and last week they aired things out a little more than usual.  Getting back to what Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry do best with one of the best offensive lines seems to be in the cards.

The plan may be to take a risk on that Derrick Henry prop to see 100+ rushing yards here. At +110, that is a surprisingly reasonable number. Henry also averages slightly less than 20 carries a contest which allows him to go full bore now in the second half of the regular season.

Now, for a few more possibilities. There is an alt-over of 105.5 yards at +130 and 110+ around +150. As one climbs the ladder, the risk does go up, however. Lost in matchup one was that Henry only ran the ball 15 times. Expect a few more carries and yards. He averaged 6+ yards in that game. Take the 110+ and run.
