OSB New England To Keep Things Tight Against Jacksonville

Week 7 of the 2024-25 NFL season continues with some Sunday Brunch as the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars battle from Wembley Stadium in London, England. The game headlines teams that are looking for their second win of the season. Also, both teams took some humbling losses last week. These two teams might try to make it a little interesting. Anyhow, Patriots vs Jaguars bets get the NFL Sunday started early.

Patriots vs Jaguars Bets Hope To Surprise

Patriots vs Jaguars bets hope to surprise NFL fans expecting a boring game here. The one thing New England and Jacksonville showed on Sunday was potential from both ends of the spectrum. Jacksonville and New England were putrid defensively. The Patriots gave up 41 points to Houston and the Jaguars 35 to Chicago. Doug Pederson has to feel the hot seat getting white hot after another awful performance from his pass defense in particular. We will get to that in greater detail eventually.

For now, the Jaguars are a 5.5-point favorite in this game between 1-5 teams. Yes, you read that correctly. New England is a lucky fluke from being 0-6. Jacksonville and New England are battling for the top draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That is frankly what is going on here. No one wants to admit it but both teams are that abysmal. Some pundits have penned Jacksonville as the worst team in football.

Furthermore, Jacksonville's coach points to a culture problem. When one sees this much disfunction, that is very sobering. Trevor Lawrence was not awful but he did throw that expected interception. Again, the defense could not get off the field and the rushing attack managed a mere 68 yards. Yes, Chicago has a good run defense but the Jaguars' leading runner had 28 yards. That is not ideal.

The belief is both quarterbacks may throw 30+ passes here. Both teams can run with some success on the ground to set up the passing games. Drake Maye stretched out the field against Houston and the New England rookie can keep this game close against a Jacksonville team that does not force many mistakes.

Bowling Over For Points From London

Yes, Patriots vs Jaguars bets suggest to go bowling over for points from London. The problem with both teams is neither defense is that good. Although, the offenses are not much better, there is potential on both sides. Drake Maye helped New England put up 21 points against a Houston defense that is one of the better squads in the NFL. Jacksonville only scored 16 against Chicago but did net 37 the week before against Indianapolis.

Jacksonville can give up large chunks of real estate through the air. Worse, they have picked off one opponents pass all season compared to allowing a whopping 14 touchdowns. That pick came on Sunday against Chicago where Caleb Williams threw four passes that ended up going for six points. Maye will be facing what looks like a college-level defense at times. The New England offensive line should have an easier time protecting the rookie this week.

The game total stands at 42.5 at press time. That is not a bad number here. No one is expecting both offenses to score 30 points. That might take till the clocks change. Instead, both teams could score more than 20 points. Honestly, the key may be which team integrates the running game better early to set up the passing attacks. Both teams allow the opponent to convert more than 44% of their third downs so long drives are likely and more scores.

The simple answer is to roll with the Over. Did we mention teams score a touchdown against Jacksonville 76.2% of the time once in the Red Zone? We just did.

Do We Have More Wagers On The Menu?

Patriots vs Jaguars bets ask do we have more wagers on the menu? This is not going to be an easy early start of the week. However, it was encouraging that Evan Engram stayed healthy. Engram could have another big day in London in Week 7. Check out his yardage prop when it comes out. It will be interesting to see if the books hedge given those health issues.

One of the more risky bets early to come out for this Sunday morning game is the idea that New England will score first. It is a coin flip of a bet at +120. Both teams are awful but if New England gets the ball first, the chances they score are a lot higher with Maye under the Center position. No one is betting a ton of money on this or should they. Keep the bets small here.

The final possibility has to be going all in with the New England mild upset. Surprisingly, Bovada has this at +200 and it might even go a little further during the week. Anything is possible in London, right?
