In the conference championship, the Eagles racked up seven rushing touchdowns in a 55-23 rout.
As for the Kansas City Chiefs, they did what they normally do. The Chiefs kept winning. Kansas City defeated Houston in the Divisional Round then outlasted the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship. Patrick Mahomes outdueled Josh Allen by the narrowest of margins as Mahomes ran for two touchdowns and threw for one more.
A Quick Super Bowl 59 Pick On The Moneyline
Few are surprised the Chiefs are favored to beat the Eagles, and yet we do agree. To be sure, the Jalen Hurts injury is not serious but he is not 100%. Yes, the joke that almost every player is banged up this time of year (Patrick Mahomes - ankle). Hurts threw mostly short and medium-range passes against Washington. The real question is can Kansas City slow down Saquon Barkley? Few teams have been able to this season.
Yes the Eagles offense is a bit more than Barkley this postseason. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has gotten creative and his running ability could stretch even the Chiefs' stout defense. Kansas City's best defense may be their offense in this game as keeping the Eagles off the field will be a priority.
Granted, the Chiefs’ offense found themselves at the right time. Patrick Mahomes has seen his share of inconsistency but the quarterback led eight game-winning drives in all this season. That includes the Conference Championship game. Travis Kelce was used as a bit of a decoy while Xavier Worthy led all Chiefs receivers with six passes caught and 85 yards receiving. Kansas City can beat teams a variety of ways using Mahomes' mobility to create time down the field.
This is the difference maker here. Kansas City can slow down Barkley (who will finally run into a solid run defense). This figures to be a close game with a tendency toward the offense. Matthew Stafford showed a blueprint on how to attack the Eagles defense. Mahomes can make that an exclamation point!

Once again, this is an NFL Super Bowl point spread to stay tight. Expect a nip-and-tuck contest that will feature a dramatic fourth-quarter ending:
