OSB Going Giant With The Cowboys In NFL Week Four

The fourth week of the 2024-25 NFL season opens up on Thursday night as the Dallas Cowboys head to New Jersey to do battle with the New York Giants. Now, there are several other contests to look at this weekend. However, this NFC East battle from MetLife Stadium always has extra meaning. Throw the records out the window here as both teams try to even their record at .500. Basically, expect a lot of trash talking and hard-mouthed football! Anyway, Cowboys vs Giants bets get primetime ready.

  • What? NFL 2024/2025 Week Four - Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
  • Where? MetLife Stadium - East Rutherford, New Jersey
  • When? Thursday September 26th, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video

Yes, Week 2 does not end until Monday night. Do not forget that again there is a doubleheader on Monday night. While Miami and Tennessee could be a snoozer, Seattle and Detroit will be anything but. Those are two teams that can go at it on the ground or through the air.

Alright, Bovada Online Sportsbook brings some heat with the Dallas and New York numbers below.

Cowboys vs Giants Bets And What Could Get Ugly

Cowboys vs Giants bets and what could get ugly on Thursday night. So, what so we mean here? If anyone has watched Daniel Jones performances against the Cowboys, they know what to expect. Now, it is not pretty or for the faint of heart. In this decade, Dallas has won seven of the eight meetings including six straight currently. Last year may have been the low-point in the rivalry for New York. The Cowboys outscored the Giants 89-17. Yes, that is not a misprint.

As we mentioned above, both teams are desperately trying to even their record at 2-2. Currently, they are chasing Washington and Philadelphia (both 2-1). The one thing that is clear is that neither team seems to be able to stop teams defensively. Beating Cleveland is not much of an accomplishment given how poorly the Browns have come out in September. Deshaun Watson has looked more like a college quarterback. The same thing can be said about Daniel Jones.

Now, Dallas knows what is coming. Jones cannot throw a deep ball at all in September. His only hope is that Malik Nabers can go up and make some amazing catches. While the Cowboys' run defense has been porous this month, the Giants cannot afford to get off to a poor start like they did versus the Browns. It will snowball and it will get very bad!

Okay, this may be one game where Dallas could tee off defensively at times. They will get gouged occasionally but there will be chances to get some turnovers. The Giants do not have the rushing attack of a Baltimore or New Orleans. .

Dallas Cowboys Getting A Defensive/Special Teams Boost

Yes, Cowboys vs Giants bets look at the chances of a defensive/special teams boost on Thursday night.Touchdowns do not happen as often via special teams or the defense. However, in previous matchups, Dallas turned New York miscues directly into points. It has turned games quickly in the Dallas direction and deflated the hopes of the Giants way too often. Could the song remain the same in this ninth meeting of the decade?

The Dallas defense converted a blocked field goal into a touchdown and an interception return last year into scores during the opening meeting with Daniel Jones under Center. With Jones mostly throwing within 10-12 yards or less, even the Dallas defense should be able to key into at least one potential mistake if not more. Did we mention the potential for rain showers and muggy conditions? Our apologies for forgetting that minor detail in the North Jersey weather forecast.

The Cowboys could still face a Giants team that keeps it a little closer than expected yet still get that big play from the defense and/or special teams end. New York is hurting and without Graham Gano, the potential for a field goal mishap increases. Also, the kicking game and kickoff coverage is not quite the same. Finally, if Dallas is up later in the game, the chances for a Jones interception also goes upward. .

Take the prospect of that extra touchdown coming from a less than conventional source.

Into The Week 4 NFL Games Landscape

While the Cowboys vs Giants bets could write itself, there are plenty of picks at the ready for Week 4 NFL games. Yes, the NFL sucks you in. Some options could include the Monday night games. Taking the Under on the Miami-Tennessee contest even at 36.5 points while going the Over with Detroit-Seattle at 47.5.

Does the crazy trend end with the 6+ point spreads covering the underdog. Through three weeks, teams +6 or greater are 12-1 ATS and are right around ,500 straight up. It is fascinating. At some point, the trend has to slow. That may begin in Week 4. Dallas is one example who could cover. San Francisco is likely another even at 10 points. Okay, Washington and Arizona could be a track meet even at 50.5 points. Hammer that over!

Finally, there are some concerns and plenty enough to consider shopping a little more before Sunday and Monday. Keep an eye on Justin Herbert's ankle. Kansas City might actually cover on Sunday. Might. Do monitor Green Bay and Minnesota as the spread may move there too. Malik Willis could help hand Minnesota their first loss on Sunday.
