Bengals vs Giants Bets Go Back To The Docks
Bengals vs Giants bets go back to the docks for this Sunday night contest. It has been a strange season so far for both Cincinnati and New York. New York is a far better team on the road oddly enough. The Giants defeated Seattle and Cleveland away from home and arguably should have downed Washington as well. Home has been a bit of a different story where they are 0-2. The opener saw them fumble opportunites away while the second game saw more missed chances.
One of the keys to the game is going to be the nerves. It is not a secret that Daniel Jones cannot win when it counts in primetime games. Sometimes it is the matchup, sometimes it is his inability to read coverages or throw a deep ball. Bluntly, 1-12 is 1-12 and that is the quarterbacks' record in games after dark.
Now, the Bengals defense is abysmal in 2024. Since the loss to Kansas City where they forced three turnovers and allowed under 300 yards, Cincinnati has yielded more than 400 yards a contest including 520 to Baltimore last week (that game did go to overtime). Cincinnati gives up 4.6 yards per rush, allows big chunk pass plays, and makes mistakes overall that a potential playoff team should never make. At 1-4, the Bengals need a win in the worst way.
Honestly, the over may come down a little. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for some rain showers potentially on Sunday night as a cold front slips through. If there is movement on this, pounce. BetOnline has this at 48.5, the risk is taking the Under and we will take a chance.
To Spread Out Or Not To Spread Out?
Now, Giants vs Bengals bets ask do we spread out or not spread out? Granted, the spread is shifting around between 2.5 and 3.5 points currently. It is that 3.5 number which keeps getting dangled out there. The New York Giants are bound to score a home touchdown and that does happen this week. The question is does Malik Nabers play (concussion). As of now, it appears the rookie standout is nearing a return. How effective will he be remains a question?
Unfortunately, defensive standout MLB Kayvon Thibodeaux is now week-to-week after undergoing wrist surgery. Without Thibodeaux, the Giants do take a hit with what was an inconsistent pass rush. Now, can Daniel Jones get the ball to his receivers? Deep ball problems have plagued Jones all year and his mobility is a problem. No one knows if the Giants can score more than 20 points at home. The defense is more likely to give up 20+ points than the offense to score 20+ at home.
Cincinnati has its own problems and most of that is self inflicted. The Bengals are 1-4 but only two games out of first place in the AFC North. The good news is that Pittsburgh is starting to fade and Cleveland is even worse off. If Joe Burrow and the Bengals can make some kind of charge, there is a playoff chance still. Any move has to start in Week 6 on the road.
Again, the Bengals' offense can move the ball against the Giants. Keeping mistakes to a minimum should help Cincinnati cover on Sunday night as the Giants may not quite keep up. It will not be easy but Cincinnati is capable of notching one against the spread.
Propping Up Cincinnati and New York
With the Bengals vs Giants bets, how are we propping up Cincinnati and New York? Prime Betting NFL Prop Bets online can be an extreme roller coaster. All it takes is one bad break to ruin what was such a masterful plan or plans in theory.
We believe in Ja'Marr Chase to do some big things on Sunday night. Chase leads all Bengals receivers with 493 yards and five touchdowns. If Cincinnati had a more competent run game, that number might be even higher. Chase over 75.5 yards is -115 on Bovada and that 100+ yard prop is now +150.
If one believes in the slew of Joe Burrow props, expect him to go over on yards and touchdowns. Burrow has 12 touchdowns in five games and almost 1,400 yards passing. He is getting better every week even if the Bengals are not.
For fun, there are the 1st drive props as well. The Giants to punt is still Even while the Bengals to score a touchdown is +175. Again, that punt looks pretty enticing. Many were expecting that prop to be around -125 to -130.
