The 2023 NFL draft and free agency are now firmly in our rear view mirror, and you know what that means: It's time to take stock of the latest betting odds on the 2024 Super Bowl.
A lot has changed since we last went through this exercise right around the start of the spring. Sure, the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs continue to feature prominently in the discussion. But player movement has greatly impacted the NFL betting odds landscape. Most notably, the New York Jets' acquisition of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has many rethinking their 2024 Super Bowl picks. Should you be among them?
Before we dig further into the landscape, let's have a look at the latest online NFL betting odds for the 2024 Super Bowl, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas:
Making Super Bowl predictions now comes with an obvious benefit: You're getting the most lucrative lines possible, because the regular season hasn't even started. All the best sports betting sites in the United States will more frequently and dramatically shift their NFL betting odds once games begin in September. Changes will also be made throughout the rest of the offseason—especially once training camps open and preseason exhibitions approach.
It's important you continue rechecking these Super Bowl betting odds for that reason. Our online NFL futures are accurate as of Thursday, June 29—more than eight months before the big game ever takes place. Lines will constantly be evolving in the weeks and months that follow.
With all of that out of the way, let's get in to the best bets to win the 2024 Super Bowl
The Kansas City Chiefs Remain a Viable 2024 Super Bowl Betting Favorite
What more can we say about the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs (+600) ? They have arguably the NFL's best player in star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which will almost certainly translate into another top-three offensive finish.
Concerns about Kansas City's defense continue to surface. That's fair. But the nucleus has shown the ability to make big plays in the postseason, and the Chiefs noticeably strengthened their edge spots during the draft and free agency.
Why are the San Francisco 49ers Rising Up the Offseason Championship Ranks?
Holy moly. The San Francisco 49ers (+1000) continue to ascend up the Super Bowl odds leaderboard. And it's all because of their defense.
San Francisco has taken already-historical stopping power and effectively added to it. In particular, they have upgraded their options at defensive tackle. Quarterback play remains a giant question mark, but good luck to any offense, at all, scoring multiple touchdowns on this group in a single game.
Should You Take the New York Jets' 2024 Super Bowl Betting Odds Seriously?
The arrival of Aaron Rodgers has been a boon for the New York Jets (+1600) in the Super Bowl discussion. Rightfully so. He remains one of the five to 10 best QB1s in the game.
Still, Rodgers is 39 years old. He'll turn 40 in December. And the offensive talent around him isn't exactly polished. The Jets are absolutely threats in the AFC East, but we're not quite sure they deserve top-10 Super Bowl odds just yet.
Sleep on the Miami Dolphins at Your Own Peril
We identified the Miami Dolphins (+2500) as one of the best dark horse 2024 Super Bowl bets the last time we went through this process. We're doubling down now.
Miami projects to have one of the NFL's most potent offenses yet again, and they have seriously boosted their defensive appeal. Hiring Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator was huge. Trading for All-Prop cornerback Jalen Ramsey was even bigger.
Don't expect the Dolphins' Super Bowl odds to remain at 25-to-1 for long. In fact, they're already on the climb. They were listed around 35-to-1 in March.
Better Bet to Win the 2024 Super Bowl: Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles or Cincinnati Bengals
Most will gravitate towards the Philadelphia Eagles (+800). Not only were they a Super Bowl finalist last season, but the path out of the NFC profiles as easier than the road out of the AFC.
Others will be drawn to the Buffalo Bills (+900). They were considered the consensus best team entering last season, and though they flamed out in the playoffs, they have since surrounded quarterback Josh Allen with more consistent and higher-end pass-catchers.
And yet, we're most intrigued by the Cincinnati Bengals (+1000). Remember, they were a Super Bowl finalist in 2022. Despite a less impressive finish last season, they made some strides on both sides of the ball. That growth will continue this year after Cincinnati aggressively upgraded the pass protection for quarterback Joe Burrow.
Official 2024 Super Bowl Prediction
How are we supposed to bet against the Kansas City Chiefs? They may have the most well-rounded team in the NFL after the defensive improvements they've made.
What's more, their 2024 Super Bowl odds have actually moved towards a more lucrative payout. Kansas City opened as +550 favorites. The Chiefs now sit at +600.
Nothing has happened over the past few months that should lower your impression of this team. The AFC landscape is slightly deep, but hey, so are the Chiefs. If you're looking for a higher-risk, higher-reward proposition, we'd consider throwing money at the Dolphins (+2500) or New York Giants (+4500).
For now, though, the Chiefs are our pick to win the 2024 Super Bowl–and, frankly, it's not even kind of close.
