The Miami Dolphins are about to put the Cleveland Browns' playoff hopes to bed.

Could the Miami Dolphins close out Week 10 of the 2022 NFL regular season at the top of the AFC East, ahead of both the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills? Well, it's possible. They'll need the Bills to lose against the Minnesota Vikings. But they'll also need to beat the Cleveland Browns, who they face on Sunday, November 13, at 1 p.m. EST.

Fortunately for Dolphins fans, we believe they'll do exactly that. Miami has been on a tear since getting QB1 Tua Tagovailoa back under center, and they're facing a Browns team that continues to be without their own star QB1, Deshaun Watson, who is serving an 11-game suspension after he was credibly accused of sexual assault by dozens of female masseuses.

Yes, Cleveland is trying to tread water until Watson makes his debut and has managed to float around the periphery of the NFL playoff conversation. They are in must-win territory. That could mean they're playing with a little extra juice. But we're inclined to agree with the latest NFL online betting odds; we believe the Dolphins should win this one handedly. Expect the Miami Dolphins to Get Their Fourth Straight Victory at the Expense of the Cleveland Browns

Fun fact: The Miami Dolphins have yet to lose a game in which they have Tua Tagovailoa under center. Sure, they've been able to fatten up their win totals on the likes of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, but they also have early-season victories over the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots to their name.

Don't let the modest offensive numbers fool you, either. The Dolphins may be 11th in points per game, but they're more like third when you factor in only the tilts Tua has played. No team has as many downfield threats; the Jaylen Waddle-Tyrese Hill wide receiver combination is truly one of a kind.

Skeptics worry about Miami's defense, which is fair. They are 25th in net yards allowed per passing attempt. But that's where the Deshaun Watson absence looms large entering Week 10. The Browns are not currently a team that's built to move the chains through the air on a consistent basis. Yes, they're ninth in net yards per passing attempt, but they're just 28th in passing touchdowns and 16th in total passing yards.

The Dolphins should have the discipline to hang with this version of the Browns' offense. Their front seven are underrated against the rush, and even if Miami bleeds points, Cleveland's own defense is forgiving enough to give them right back.

Who Will Cover the Point Spread in Dolphins vs. Browns?

Here are the latest NFL point spread betting odds for Dolphins vs. Browns:

  • Miami Dolphins, -4 (-110)
  • Cleveland Browns, +4 (-110)

Looking to previous results won't help you much here for the Dolphins. They are 4-5 against the spread on the season, but three of those performances came without Tua, which skew the returns.

Cleveland has enjoyed more success as a spread bet. They are above .500 against the spread—including 2-1 when they're on the road.

The Dolphins' past two victories have come by a total of seven points, which could account for why this spread is so small. Miami's defense let both Detroit and Chicago run up the score on the back of their passing attacks.

Guess what? The Browns don't have that same level of passing attack. And if they rely on the run, that'll play right into the Dolphins' hands. This feels like a game Miami should win by a touchdown.

Should We Prepare for a Shootout Between Miami and Cleveland in Week 10?

Below you can see the latest NFL over/under betting odds for Browns vs. Dolphins:

  • Over 48.5 (-114)
  • Under 48.5 (-106)

Over bettors have cashed in a majority of the time when betting on the Browns. Cleveland is a whopping 5-2-1 as an over wager. That's actually not surprising. So many of their final-score projections have been repressed by the absence of Watson. It makes sense that they've been able to score more than the absolute minimum.

Still, a 48.5 benchmark is a different story. That's high.

But it's not too high for us. The Dolphins are averaging over 30 points with Tua under center, and Cleveland doesn't have the secondary to effectively derail Miami's attack. Unless the Browns turn in a one-score clunker, we think this one should clear the 50-point threshold.

OSB Prediction: Over 48.5 (-114)
