2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Prediction
Sometimes, the odds say it all. And this is one of those times.
Dak Prescott (-1000) embodies everything voters look for in Comeback Player of the Year: a star returning from a devastating injury. No one else on this list really comes close. Nick Bosa (+900) flirts with that status, as someone who should finish in the top five of Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Still, voters naturally gravitate toward offensive players. And Prescott just so happens to be the signal-caller for the second-rated offense in the league, a standing the Dallas Cowboys have achieved on the back of his career-best efficiency out of the pocket.
There's no decision to make here.
OSB Prediction: Dak Prescott (-1000)

2021 NFL Coach of the Year Prediction
Have a look at the latest 2021 NFL Coach of the Year betting odds from BetOnline:
Coach of the Year Pick | |
---|---|
Bill Belichick | -110 |
Kliff Kingsbury | +400 |
Matt LaFleur | +800 |
Mike Vrabel | +1600 |
Brandon Staley | +1600 |
Sean McVay | +2000 |
Zac Taylor | +2000 |
Mike McCarthy | +2500 |
Frank Reich | +3300 |
Brian Flores | +3300 |
Andy Reid | +4000 |
Bruce Arians | +4000 |
Ron Rivera | +4000 |
Kyle Shanahan | +5000 |
Nick Sirianni | +8000 |
A majority of NFL prognosticators have Bill Belichick (-110) running away with this award. Their reasoning is pretty airtight. Belichick has guided a team that was supposed to be rebuilding up to the top of the AFC East while going on an historically impressive winning streak with a rookie quarterback in Mac Jones and a defense that ranks first in points allowed per game.
Good luck finding a candidate to beat him. Kliff Kingsbury (+400) has a compelling case. The Arizona Cardinals have the league's best record and, perhaps, the best offense. But they were built to contend for a Super Bowl this season. New England wasn't—or so we thought. That surprise factor should carry Belichick to a Coach of the Year victory over competitors like Kingsbury, Matt LaFleur (+800) and Mike Vrabel (+1600).
OSB Prediction: Bill Belichick (-110)
2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Prediction
Below are the latest NFL Defensive Player of the Year betting odds from BetOnline:
Defensive Player of the Year Pick | |
---|---|
Myles Garrett | +250 |
Micah Parsons | +300 |
TJ Watt | +350 |
Aaron Donald | +600 |
Matt Judon | +1000 |
Nick Bosa | +1200 |
Trevon Diggs | +1400 |
Trey Hendrickson | +3300 |
JC Jackson | +3300 |
Devin White | +4000 |
Shaquil Barrett | +5000 |
Kevin Byard | +5000 |
Myles Garrett (+250) has been an absolute monster for the Cleveland Browns this season. He's racked up 28 quarterback and 15 actual sacks—mind-boggling numbers for a 272-pound defensive end who draws the bulk of the offensive line's attention every snap. He has earned his slight favorite status.
However, Micah Parsons (+300) isn't far behind. The favorite to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year also has a case to be the best defensive player in football, period. Voters would typically be hesitant to give him dual honors, but Parsons is making it impossible not to consider him. He leads the entire league in tackles that go for a loss, and his quarterback pressure rivals that from Garrett. Parsons has 27 QB hits and 12 sacks on the year.
Given that Dallas has turned their season around on defense lately, we're inclined to roll with the rookie over Garrett. No one player can define an entire defense, but playing for the better team always goes a long way with the voters.
OSB Prediction: Micah Parsons (+300)
