What might have been a College Football Playoff appearance has turned into a New Year's Six bowl matchup for Georgia and Florida State at the Orange Bowl.
The clash is set to take place on Dec. 30 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., promising a game filled with heightened emotions.
There will be no shortage ofĀ Online college football betting as the college football season enters its bowl season, and every game becomes a high-stakes chess match.
Game Preview (Spread)
Initially favored by a substantial 13 points, Georgia has since seen the spread increase to -14, with -600 on the moneyline.
On the flip side, Florida State is at +14 on the spread and +460 for an outright victory. The projected total has dipped slightly from 45 to 44.5.
The Orange Bowl, a longstanding annual tradition since 1935, has been part of the New Year's Six bowl games associated with the College Football Playoff since 2014.
Last year's Orange Bowl featured Tennessee defeating Clemson with a score of 31-14.
Despite Georgia's aspirations for a three-peat, they fell short in the SEC Championship, losing 27-24 to Alabama.
The defeat and a 12-1 record led to their exclusion from the College Football Playoff.
Plunging from No. 1 to No. 6 in the AP poll and relinquishing their top spot in the CFP, Georgia found themselves in another New Year's Six bowl, a consolation prize that offered little solace.
While the Bulldogs secured impressive victories against teams like Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, their season ended with an 8-0 record in SEC play, extending their conference-record winning streak to 29 games.
Nevertheless, their ATS performance was less stellar, going 4-8-1, including a 1-4 mark in the last five weeks. They also went Under the projected total in seven of 13 games.
Statistically, Georgia excelled in total offense and defense, ranking eighth with 482.9 yards per game and 10th with 295.2 yards allowed per game, respectively.
Their offensive prowess translated to 38.4 points per game, while their defense held opponents to an average of 16.6 points per game.
These stats should be considered when evaluating the Orange Bowl football odds.
The Orange Bowl is met with some disappointment for Georgia, and the likelihood of player opt-outs is on the horizon.
In reminiscent fashion of the 2020 Peach Bowl, where All-SEC cornerback Eric Stokes chose to sit out, current discussions between head coach Kirby Smart and players are ongoing.
Seven Bulldogs, including backup quarterback Brock Vandagriff, have entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Conversely, Florida State faced a historical setback, becoming the first undefeated Power Five conference champion excluded from the CFP.
With a 13-0 record and an ACC Championship, the Seminoles found themselves outside the four-team playoff due to quarterback injuries.
The selection committee considered their last two victories, which were achieved without star Jordan Travis, who suffered a season-ending leg injury.
Backup Tate Rodemaker stepped in, securing a comeback win over Florida to cap a 12-0 NCAAF standings record.
Unfortunately, Rodemaker was unavailable for the ACC Championship against Louisville, where freshman Brock Glenn struggled in his first college start.
Despite challenges, Florida State's resume stands strong, featuring a notable 45-24 win against LSU in the Camping World Kickoff and victories over Clemson and Duke in ACC play.

Total Points
The Seminoles present a resilient stance with an 8-5 ATS record, including 2-0 as an underdog, and a solid 7-6 performance against the Over/Under.
While Rodemaker's health is crucial, receiver Johnny Wilson has already declared for the NFL Draft, opting out of the Orange Bowl.
Wilson's absence, coupled with potential further opt-outs, weighs on the minds of Seminoles players who aim to prove their worth after the CFP snub.

Georgia, facing one of the nation's toughest defenses, must contend with Florida State's ability to limit opponents to an average of 15.9 points, the sixth-fewest in FBS, and record the third-highest number of sacks with 45.
While the Bulldogs possess the capability to overcome challenges at full strength, the specter of potential opt-outs adds uncertainty to the matchup.
As the Orange Bowl football odds unfold, keep an eye on the evolving composition of the Bulldogs' roster.
