Here at OSB, we've already got the futures for the 2022-23 NCAA football National Championship ready, which takes place on January 9th at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Alabama
By no surprise, Bama is very strong again and the favorite to capture the 2023 National Championship, with their lowest odds sitting at +186. They have a solid recruiting class coming in and have been a regular in the big game, appearing in six of the last eight years. The Crimson Tide won it three times, too. QB Bryce Young returns to the fold and with him expected to be a high pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, big things are expected from the former Oklahoma signal-caller who won the Heisman Trophy in his first year with the program. Nick Saban also managed to lure in Jermaine Burton, who served as one of Georgia's biggest offensive weapons last year. You can't forget one of the country's best edge-rushers in Will Anderson Jr, either.
Georgia
The Bulldogs have odds as low as +325 at Bovada to capture another title in 2023 after beating Alabama in January. It was Georgia's first CFB championship in 41 years as they ultimately outscored the Crimson Tide 27-9 in the second half, rolling to a 33-18 win. Kirby Smart's squad did lose some talent on the transfer portal though, with star wideout Jermaine Burton moving over to Alabama. he had 497 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season. The Bulldogs also lost numerous seniors and their defense isn't expected to be as good in 2022-23 after barely allowing 10 points per game in 2021-22. However, they can never be counted out.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes of Ohio State could be an intriguing pick. They're coming off a solid season, winning 11 games and beating Utah in the Rose Bowl after just narrowly missing out on the Big 10 championship. OSU did lose a couple of key weapons to the draft in Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, but their Heisman finalist QB CJ Stroud returns to Columbus for another year. Running back TreyVeyon Henderson is also back in the mix again while leading receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is set to be catching passes out wide from Stroud as one of his more reliable targets. The clear reason the Buckeyes could be dangerous is undoubtedly their signal-caller but the program also hired a new defensive coordinator in Jim Knowles. He played a key part in turning things around for Oklahoma State's defense and should make a big difference at OSU.
USC
The Trojans are a very intriguing longshot. Their best National Championship odds sit at +1400, but they made some big changes this offseason for the better. USC hired former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley to take over the program and he also brought former Sooners DC Alex Grinch along with him. The main reason the Trojans could be a dark horse however is the addition of 5-star quarterback Caleb Williams. He was at Oklahoma with Riley and has decided to hit the transfer portal and move to Southern California with his head coach. Williams was a star at OU in 2021 as well, throwing for over 1,900 yards and 21 touchdowns after snatching the starting job from Spencer Rattler. Wideout Mario Williams also followed his former QB and coach from Oklahoma to Los Angeles in January. Riley is a phenomenal HC and he has a Heisman-caliber signal-caller on his hands. Don't sleep on the Trojans.
Clemson
The Tigers were disappointing in 2021, finishing in third place in the ACC with a 10-3 record. They still managed to win the Cheez-It Bowl beating Iowa State, but as a whole, this wasn't a great season. That being said, Dabo Swinney's squad has made four appearances in the National Championship in the last 10 years and just brought in QB transfer Hunter Johnson from Northwestern. The Tigers lost both their OCs and DCs to head coaching jobs and need much more consistent play from their quarterbacks. D.J.Uiagalelei threw for over 2,000 yards but only managed to connect for nine touchdowns while also getting picked off 10 times. Perhaps the arrival of Johnson can help bring the best out of him.
CFB National Championship pick
It's obviously very early, but not picking Alabama at this point would be foolish. Nick Saban is a wizard, he has a Heisman QB, a strong defense, and even more additions from the transfer portal. Every single year, the Crimson Tide manages to bring in more and more talent to replenish their roster and get back to the CFB Playoff. Another title could very well be in the cards again.
