NC State vs Purdue Bets Enamored By The Wolfpack

NC State vs Purdue bets get enamored by the Wolfpack. So, what happened with Purdue over the weekend? Okay, they made the Final Four behind big wins over Gonzaga and Tennessee. However, they were not the story. Instead, NC State continued to be the darlings of the NCAA Tournament. The long shots punched their ticket to the Final Four behind wins over Marquette and Duke. These were hardly easy games as both the Golden Eagles and Blue Devils were often in the Top 10 this season.

If that was not enough, Duke had just defeated top-seeded Houston in the South Region in the Sweet 16. NC State not only took down Duke but won by 12 points. It was their best performance since the last time they beat Duke in the ACC Tournament. Honestly, things work out well in a tournament scenario. Then, there was the women's tournament. Get this. There was a parlay we bet on between the two Wolfpack basketball teams (men's and women's).

Sure enough, both Wolfpack teams pulled off the double (at +975 on Bovada). It was quite a parlay that did not seem to have a chance. Anyway, can NC State do it one more time. Or, does Purdue continue a Virginia-like run to the National Championship? Let us dive all in!

Purdue Concerned With NC State

The NC State vs Purdue bets note that Purdue remains concerned with NC State. Purdue has been all business in their run out of the Midwest Region. The Boilermakers held off Tennessee in the Elite Eight by six points behind 40 points from Zach Edey. Now, the Wolfpack have hatched a plan to slow down Edey a bit. D.J. Burns, Mohamed Diarra, and Ben Middlebrooks can play against the best of big men. Burns has the beef to be physical with Edey and plays taller than his 6-foot-9 frame.

The problem with NC State that should scare Purdue is that nine-game winning streak. Many of those wins have come against some of the best college basketball has offered this year. Even when the Wolfpack do not shoot so well from beyond the arc, they find a way to score in transition and down low. Again, Burns can cause Edey fits and actually cause him to get into foul trouble. The key will be that matchup early.

There lie a few more reasons Matt Painter is concerned with NC State. Michael O'Connell does not score a lot of points but the floor general can find open players (six assists versus Duke) and 11 rebounds. The Wolfpack draw fouls (23 in all against Duke). NC State got Kyle Filipowski and Mark Mitchell out of the game. That is not easy to do.

Again, Purdue possesses four of the Top 100 players in the nation in terms of their recruiting class. NC State has three but again few players are like Burns and few have the tenacity of O'Connell. If the Wolfpack stay in this game early then look out. This was a team that floundered for a half and then scored 55 points over the final 20 minutes against the Duke Blue Devils.

NC State vs Purdue Bets Getting Nine Points?

So, what about NC State vs Purdue bets getting nine points for NC State? The rationale is that Purdue hits the big time against a Cinderella with zero to lose. They have played tournament basketball for almost four weeks now. Purdue can argue the same but the Boilermakers are the favored team with all the pressure. Plus, this is Edey's final shot at a title.

The NC State team is poised for this moment. Again, keeping the game close benefits the Wolfpack. Purdue must get out to a somewhat big lead. If they do not, the Wolfpack cover here.

There is a belief that NC State could win this game outright (that +350 Moneyline might be worth a few dollar wager). Anyway, the spread and eventual alternate spreads are where we have our eyes firmly planted.

What About The Over On Saturday?

Finally, Monday NCAA Basketball Picks considers the over for tonight. This game expects to see a few more shifts but the first game will see more points in the second half. Expect the teams to feel each other out early then the pace will pick up. In the end, this could come up to around 150 points after 40 minutes. Take the over!
