Meanwhile, Monmouth won just one game in their first 11 before starting to rebound. Even going 8-6 recently has done little to placate critics.
Currently, we worry little about critics. The concern is about the bets naturally. Both teams come off humiliating losses. Monmouth got routed by Towson while Hofstra managed a mere 49 points against Hampton. Hampton is under .500 in conference play as the Pride dropped to 4-10 in conference play.
Monmouth goes as far as Abdi Bashir goes. The top Guard averages more than 20 points a game but often has little support. Bashir's slick shooting and slashing to the rim creates offense. However, Madison Durr probably is their only other viable threat. Balance only gets a team so far. Hofstra has a two-pronged attack in Jean Aranguren and Cruz Davis. Michael Graham can gather rebounds but shooting can be an adventure.
Naturally, taking this game on felt like the right thing to do. Frankly, it is time to dig a little deeper.

It is blatantly hard to ignore.
Anyhow, neither team is going to supplant teams like UNC-Wilmington or Towson. That is the reality. However, Monmouth is the more likely team to at least make a bit of noise in the conference tournament. Also, Monmouth again has a game breaker that Hofstra does not have. Bashir makes that much of a difference. When he is on, few in the CAA can truly slow the player down.
Now, what do some of the numbers look like here? It is crazy but Monmouth is now +205 on the moneyline via Bovada. Taking a look at both betting choices makes us consider going all in on Monmouth. Playing this somewhat safe leads us to the under on Thursday night.
