Trojans vs Terrapins Bets Serving Up Some Extra Maryland Pace

Trojans vs Terrapins bets serving up some extra Maryland pace.  So, the Maryland Terrapins have had some staying power in the Top 25 this season. Their 20-6 mark under Kevin Willard is better than many expected. Maryland rolls in with 10 conference wins as they try to stay in the race for the Big 10 title. The two Michigan schools have dominated but the Terrapins are a sneaky team that is capable of surprising come March.

Currently, Maryland slots into the 20th in the Top 25 rankings. The nice thing is the Terrapins have enjoyed a rather easy schedule. Their SOS (strength of schedule) ranks the second easiest in the conference. Do not let that fool you. Maryland finds a way to stay close in games. In six losses, they have not been blown out once. Maryland features a trio of players from the state including two potential pro prospects who hail from Baltimore.

Derik Queen and Julian Reese both went to St. Frances Academy and it feels like they set a few high school records in the state. Add in Rodney Rice and the Terrapins have shown an ability to outscore their problems at times. They average 83.5 points per game and rank inside the Top 20 when it comes to offensive and defensive rating. That is rare for teams not inside the Top 3 of their conference. Alas, it is the problem sometimes when it comes to all these stacked power conferences.

Naturally, can Maryland find a way to keep on winning and set up for a big battle with Michigan State next week?

Can Maryland Cover Against USC?

Trojans vs Terrpains bets ask can Maryland cover against USC? This game garners plenty of importance for Maryland. For USC, this is essentially their season. They need wins heading into the Big 10 Tournament. It will be challenging to get very far. A total of four double-digit losses does not help the Trojans. Eric Musselman has not had the easiest time getting his team on a run. There is a reason USC is 14-11 with a 6-8 mark in the Big 10.

Hey, with several games of allowing 80+ points on the road, the plate may be set up for a Maryland cover. Granted, 10.5 points feels like a lot. However, for a team who is 5-7 in 2025, the conference has proven to be quite a challenge. Desmond Claude could be a bit of a matchup problem for Maryland. Unfortunately. Josh Cohen may not be able to slow down Queen enough to make a difference. The Terrapins truly have an inside-outside game that few can beat.

Anyway, the Terrapins get home cooking and have enjoyed this throughout 2025 so far. They have not lost at home while covering almost every game. This bodes well as the stretch run will ramp up their schedule culminating in the Big 10 Tournament. Again, Maryland is a team who could easily garner a 4 or 5 seed.

Now, can we get behind this Maryland team once again? That answer feels like yes. Maryland is one of those teams who can give any Big 10 school trouble (even Michigan and Michigan State). The Terrapins are one of those Top 25 schools who can do real damage in the NCAA Tournament. In the meantime. they just have too much pace for a team like USC who will be glad to get back home.

Trojans vs Terrapins Bets Pointing Up

So, Trojans vs Terrapins bets pointing up because of the offense. The two teams battle but can get up and down the floor well. Maryland can get to 85+ points at home. There are a few plus money options for team totals here. Yes, the Terrapins are as high as +145 to go 85+ points on Thursday night versus USC. Expectations are high here. Could USC be set up to score some points? 73 would be considered plus money at +105 to +110.

Alas, projected scores are very close to these two totals at plus money. Would anyone be surprised by an 85-74 score or something close? That sounds like a resounding no. For bettors, the game over at 152.5 is a solid bet. On the other hand, we take an even bigger risk for Thursday by taking Maryland to get to the 85-point plateau. That pays out at +145 via BetOnline.
