OSB Connecticut Reigns Supreme In Early Future Betting

There is about nine weeks until the 2024-25 college basketball season! Teams are not even practicing yet. On the bright side, "Midnight Madness" exhibitions will start and continue throughout October. At Online Sports Betting, we examine different betting angles across the US, including Connecticut. So, first, we look at 2025 College Basketball Future Bets featuring the Huskies as the favorite to got for a three-peat. Can they win yet again? What else can we find for wagers?

  • WHAT: 2024-25 NCAA Basketball Future Bets
  • WHEN: Monday, November 4th, 2024 until Monday, April 7th, 2024
  • WHERE: College teams nationwide trying to get to San Antonio, Texas
  • WHY: The race for the national title is on once again.

The bettors love speculating early but the idea was to give time to let things take their course. The future betting market gives us a good deal to ponder and some head scratchers as well. As always, NCAA College Men's basketball betting sites are updating their numbers already. After all, look at what happened to schools like Connecticut last year. They were the fifth or sixth choice before the season. Here is our table below for September, courtesy of Bovada Online Sportsbook.

2025 College Basketball Future Bets Lean Toward Connecticut

2025 College Basketball Future Bets lean towards Connecticut. So, the song remains the same for the Huskies who have gone an astounding 12-0 ATS in the last two NCAA tournaments. Let that sink in. This is a team who keeps winning games when it counts by double digits. Even Purdue could not stay close during the second half of the national championship game. Connecticut, Dan Hurley, and its balance were too much for Zach Edey and company.

Despite that, everything bunches up when it comes to those 2025 national title aspirations. Honestly, Connecticut was not going to be discounted here like last year (+1800/+500 in November). Even with the updates, the Huskies still lead the early pack. One of the bets we introduced early last season was that Final Four Bet. Connecticut was +500 before the start of the 23-24 campaign. That numbers starts around +250 now.

So, Connecticut finished 37-3 and topped the Final AP Poll. Many expect them to start at number one once again come November. One thing is for sure. Connecticut will not see +1000 before the start of the 2024-25 season. Experts remain steadfast that this Huskies team will easily win 30+ games and appear in San Antonio next April.

At Online Sports Betting, we emphasize do not concern yourself about player chemistry. One should examine those numbers instead. Connecticut paid handsomely for a Final Four / National Title double. The key is to look and find areas to strike while using a good deal of common sense. Restraint is important but the Huskies have to be a team to be wagered on heavily here.

2025 College Basketball Future Picks And Some Contenders

The 2025 College Basketball Future Picks and some contenders have felt like a record on repeat. Sometimes, there is considerable change and while a few schools have shifted a good deal, most have not. Alabama, Duke, and Kansas have more or less remained in this second tier. Houston, Gonzaga, Baylor, and even Arkansas are in the third tier. North Carolina was more of a longer shot but has shortened now to +1600 via Bovada.

With that in mind, there are some different ways to utilize the contenders. Conference odds are not quite out fully yet so that might have to wait. However, keep an eye on when they do surface. Some of the favorites may not be favorites in their own conference. The SEC and ACC could be ugly. Even the Big 10 will be far from easy. Do not forget the Big 12 with Kansas and Houston for starters.

Even Arizona at +2500 on BetOnline and +2500 on Bovada is intriguing. Now, the Wildcats are an intriguing team who will play in a Big 10 that could be an adjustment period. Watch to see if their odds lengthen early in conference play. Their athleticism could pay dividends later as they are not built like the past several years. This will be a gamble in the post Zach Edey era (Purdue).

Again, we were wrong about Purdue last season. They found a way to get over the Round 1 hump and get to the Final. Could Arizona be on that same trajectory? Teams like Alabama, Kansas, and Duke have well documented weaknesses still. This is about sneaking in the unexpected into the bets.

Other Potential Ways To Look At 2025 College Basketball Future Bets?

So, are there other ways to look at 2025 College Basketball Future Bets? We talked about the Huskies already and how they again won every single tournament game by double digits. The closest wins were 14 to Alabama and 15 to Purdue in the title game. Alabama could have problems when it comes to an improved SEC. Tennessee comes to mind as a team who could advance further in this year's tournament. Tennessee is right around +5000 on BetOnline to win the title.

There are several other SEC teams too. Auburn, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas are in the general conversation too. With all the power conferences and consolidating, picking a winner becomes more of a challenge. Smaller bets at bigger numbers could pay off. Keep an eye on the movement between now and November. Other windows include around the start of conference play and right before the conference tournaments.

There are always these teams that make a run from the further back tiers. It is why we start to look at what the landscape may be beyond the usual contenders. Even the John Wooden Award features several players that are too obvious. RJ Davis is a favorite from North Carolina but former Carolina Guard Caleb Love could surprise from Arizona.
