Alabama vs Purdue Bets Look At A Different Purdue

Alabama vs Purdue bets look at a different Purdue. So, Matt Painter finally got Purdue past the first round last season. Actually, Zach Edey and the Boilermakers came up one game short against Connecticut. With Edey gone, this is Braden Smith's team now, Smith averages 15 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game in the early going. Purdue has gotten off to a 3-0 start. Smith is flanked by Fletcher Lover and Trey Kaufman-Renn. The three Juniors face quite a test on Friday night.

The depth for the Boilermakers is somewhat intriguing in the sense that Purdue has two large players in the Edey framework. Will Berg and Daniel Jacobsen can take up lots of space in the pain at 7-foot-2 and 7-foot-4 respectively. Again, Matt Painter and company are about to face quite a test from the SEC in Alabama. An experienced Senior-laden team will keep Purdue on its toes and the home crowd captivated.

Let us grapple with this Friday night game. Can Purdue pull off the mild upset or will Alabama find a way to roll on through heading into the weekend? It's time to find out.

Both Teams Can Turn Up The Offense

Alabama vs Purdue bets know that both teams can turn up the offense. Again, this is one of the higher Game Totals one may see in the early going. That is right. We saw as high as 163.5 for this tilt between two powerhouse schools. It is a little unfortunate that the game is on Peacock. Both teams can shoot 50% from the field and will want to put on a show this Friday night. There is another Top 25 matchup (Ohio State and Texas A&M) and that game is on SEC Network.

Again, this game features an Alabama team that is ranked second in the nation (Purdue is 13th). Mark Sears and the Crimson Tide have National Title aspirations after getting eliminated in the Final Four by Connecticut. It was quite a run last season from Nate Oats and his team. That was then and this is now. Alabama has been working out the rust a bit and even coasted a bit in the second half against McNeese State. The eight point win angered Oats who felt the players could have put forth more effort.

Grant Nelson got the chance to establish himself which may be a silver lining here. Nelson racked up 22 points and will need to be the wingman to Sears on Friday night. Clifford Omoruyi is a bit of a project but a power forward from New Jersey that could handle Purdue's bigger Centers. Expect the Senior to get more minutes in this tilt. He just has to learn to stay out of foul trouble.

Again, do understand that the number seems high. However, Purdue wants to push the pace with their guards and so does Alabama. It is one of those times where the Over can hit simply because Alabama strives for more of a 40-minute effort. This was a team that averaged over 90 points a game last year. Purdue can easily top 80 themselves. The Over is our pick here.

Alabama vs Purdue Bets Laying 2.5 Points?

So, what about Alabama vs Purdue bets laying 2.5 points? Hey, it had been a few days between big games. We were treated to a gem between North Carolina and Kansas. Gonzaga and Baylor was a bit of a dud. Typically, more often than not these early season games deliver. This expects to be a closer game like the former as opposed to the latter. Purdue had to struggle some in their last game against Yale before putting them away late.

The Boilermakers did have some problems with their interior defense. It was a second half where pace picked up significantly and Yale missed some chances to pad their 50-point total there. Again, this was a contest that taught Matt Painter and company some solid lessons. If they thought Yale could bring the heat, they certainly have to expect even more pace from Alabama. The Crimson Tide ranked 1st in points and 3rd in offensive rating last season.

Again, the Crimson Tide are not facing slouches either. This is a game that likely comes down to a couple possessions and free throws late. This is a game for Sears and Nelson to take over against a slightly less experienced Purdue team. We lay the points here on Friday night.
