De'Aaron Fox is expected to make his Spurs debut in Atlanta on Wednesday night. The Sacramento Kings traded the 27-year-old point guard to San Antonio earlier in the week, providing sophomore center Victor Wembanyama with some much-needed help.
Trae Young drained a 23-foot fadeaway with under 2 seconds remaining to lead the Hawks to a 132-130 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night. Young registered 17 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter, helping put an end to his squad's eight-game losing streak.

Hawks vs Spurs Betting Trends
Atlanta has lost four-consecutive games at home to fall to 11-11 at State Farm Arena this season. With a 23-27 overall record, the Hawks currently sit in 9th-place in the Eastern Conference with a comfortable spot in the play-in tournament. Quin Snyder's club is just 22-28 against the spread with a 9-13 ATS record in their home building. However, they're 6-3 ATS as a home underdog.
The OVER in Hawks home games is a blistering 15-7 in 2024-25.
San Antonio has dropped their past two contests after an impressive 144-118 win over Milwaukee last Friday, and only have 2 wins in their past 9 games. At 21-26, the Spurs sit three games back of both the Kings and Suns for the final two play-in spots in the Western Conference. Gregg Popovich's team has a respectable 23-24 record against the spread. While they're 8-13 away from home this season, they have a 11-10 ATS record on the road, and a 3-2 mark as a road underdog.

Fox's potential impact
De'Aaron Fox is averaging 25 points with 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season - this is the fourth time in the last five years he's averaged over 25 points per game. However, he 27-year-old isn't great from beyond the arc, shooting above 32% from three-point land only once in the past six campaigns.
Fox profiles much better as a second banana, so he was wise to steer himself to San Antonio where he'll play with Wembanyama. The 7-foot-3 Frenchman has boosted his points per game average from 21.4 to 24.6 in his sophomore year, and is shooting over three percentage points better (35.8%) from distance. Wemby's 10.9 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game are also up slightly from his rookie campaign.
Paul George headed to Atlanta?
According to the NBA rumor mill, the Hawks are trying to acquire Paul George from Philadelphia before Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline. The 76ers forward is in the first year of a four-year, $211.6 million contract.
George could help replace Jalen Johnson, who will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn labrum. Johnson was in the midst of a breakout season, averaging career highs of 18.9 points, 10 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. Without their small forward, Atlanta's offense ranks just 28th in the NBA.

Atlanta Hawks vs San Antonio Spurs NBA Picks
Both teams have been miserable in their past 10 games, with the Hawks at 2-8 and the Spurs at 3-7. But, San Antonio just added a top-25 NBA player in De'Aaron Fox, while Atlanta is still struggling to adjust to life without Jalen Johnson.
