76ers vs Celtics Betting Trends

Boston is a 8-point road favorite over the Sixers on Thursday night. The Celtics are a league-best 22-6 away from home, but only 12-12-1 against the spread as a road favorite. Joe Mazzulla's club is 8-2 in its past 10 games with a 28-9 conference record.

Philadelphia is 10-17 at Wells Fargo Center with a 9-17-1 ATS record. However, as a home dog, they're 8-6-1 this season. The 76ers were 3-7 in their last 10 games before the All-Star break and have a 14-20 record against Eastern conference opponents.

The over/under for Thursday's matchup is 224.5 points. The UNDER is 18-10 in Celtics road games in 2024-25, and 13-13-1 in Philly's home contests.

All-Star Weekend

Jayson Tatum scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the NBA’s first-ever All-Star tournament. The 26-year-old almost secured his second All-Star Game MVP in the past years, tallying a team-high 15 points in the championship game for Team Shaq. However, Stephen Curry got the nod after draining four threes in the championship round in front of his home crowd.

Jaylen Brown also made his 4th All-Star appearance for the Celtics, while no 76ers attended the event.

Disaster Sixers season

Joel Embiid has played in only 17 games this season and missed 37. The 7-footer is averaging almost 10 fewer points per game than last season (24.9 vs 34.7) with career-lows in rebounds (8.5) and FG % (45.5).

Paul George has missed 19 games this year, and is averaging his lowest points-per-game total (16.1) since 2011-12.

The lone bright spot is Tyrese Maxey, who is averaging 29.6 points, 6.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals since December 16.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics NBA Picks

Boston downed Philadelphia 118-110 in their home building on February 2, but both Joel Embiid and Paul George weren't in the lineup. On Christmas Day, the 76ers topped the Celtics 118-114 with both George and Embiid in action.

While the Sixers are a dumpster fire, Embiid and George should be joining Maxey on the court on Thursday night against their Atlantic division rivals.

We'll take Philadelphia to cover the points (+8) at home with the UNDER 223.5.
