Are the Sacramento Kings in trouble against the Golden State Warriors?

The tables have officially turned in the Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings first-round series. So much so, in fact, the latest betting odds on the 2023 NBA playoffs are reflecting a seismic change in momentum.

Before we get into the nitty gritty of Golden State vs. Sacramento, here's everything you need to know in advance of the big game:

  • What: Kings vs. Warriors Game 5
  • When: Wednesday, April 26
  • Start Time: 10 p.m. EST
  • Where: Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California
  • Series Score: Tied 2-2

After falling behind 2-0 in the series, the Warriors are coming off a pair of massive victories at home, including a performance in Game 3 that didn't feature Draymond Green, who was suspended for stepping on Sacramento's Domantas Sabonis in Game 2. Of course, while the momentum might be on their side, Golden State has struggled to win on the road all year, picking up just eight victories so far away from Chase Center. However, linemakers don't appear concerned by this issue. Just take a look at the latest NBA online betting odds for Warriors vs. Kings Game 5:

Remember to double-check these online NBA playoff betting odds right up until you place your wager. Our Kings vs. Warriors Game 5 betting odds are accurate as of Tuesday, April 25. That gives linemakers plenty of time to incorporate adjustments ahead of Wednesday's 10 p.m. EST opening tipoff. What's more, we would even expect some semi-major changes to these Warriors vs. Kings betting lines. Sacramento's star point guard De'Aaron Fox is currently dealing with a broken finger on his shooting hand, and it isn't immediately clear whether he will play or how healthy he'll look if he does.

With that said, you don't need to worry about any line changes if you're signed up with the right sportsbook. And we can help with that. Our reviews of the top online sportsbooks are designed specifically to help you spot the best online betting sites in 2023—both for the NBA playoffs and all other events.

So who has the edge in Game 5: the Kings or the Warriors? And what will the outcome on Wednesday say about the rest of this series? Let's get into it.

Should You Trust the Golden State Warriors to Pick Up a Game 5 Victory on the Road?

The Warriors have been a disappointment on the road all year. Only three teams have won fewer games away from home—and they're the three worst teams in the league: The San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons. This trend continued into the playoffs, with the Warriors dropping both Games 1 and Game 2. Should we expect Game 5 to be any different?

In a word: Yes.

Fox's hand injury looms large over this matchup. Our guess is that he plays, but a broken finger on your shooting hand is no joke. The Kings offense has already stalled at points, especially their actions with star Domantas Sabonis. We have seen Keegan Murray, Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter all struggle to knock down shots, as well. Adding a banged-up Fox to the equation renders their mode of operations untenable.

What's more, the Warriors appear to have discovered something with their four-out lineups. They might give up more rebounds on the offensive glass, but the extra room to maneuver has proven useful for Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole over the past two games.

At the start of this series, we predicted the Warriors to beat the Kings in seven games. That hasn't changed. If anything, given the Fox injury, we almost expect Golden State to close things out in six.

Don't Expect It to be Easy for Either Sacramento or Golden in Game 5

Who represents the best point spread bet in Game? Below you can see the latest NBA point spread betting odds for Kings vs. Warriors:

  • Golden State Warriors, -1.5 (-110)
  • Sacramento Kings, +1.5 (-110)

There's no decision to make here. The Warriors point spread provides better value than their moneyline without substantially increasing your risk, so you should go with that.

Indeed, only one game in this series has been a blowout—Game 3. But a 1.5-point spread is still much too small for our tastes. In this case, it's an attempt to juggle the Warriors' road record against Fox's injury. Regardless, you're bester served picking the team you expect to win.

OSB Prediction: Golden State Warriors, -1.5 (-110)

Will the Combined Offense in Warriors vs. Kings Disappoint in Game 5?

Here are the latest NBA over/under betting odds for Game 5 between the Kings and Warriors:

  • Over 235 (-110)
  • Under 235 (-110)

This is yet another ambitious over for this series. And on some level, we get it. The Warriors have one of the worst road defenses in the league while the Kings have the single-best offense in the entire NBA.

Even so, only one game in this series has cleared the 235-point threshold. We're not sure if it'll happen again.

It would be one thing if De'Aaron Fox wasn't injured. But he is, in fact, hurt. And though it's impossible to know how limited he'll be, a broken finger on his shooting hand most likely stands to inhibit his mid-range and three-point accuracy. Given how much Sabonis has struggled, along with how many wide-open triples Sacramento's supporting cast has missed, there's a chance Fox's injury torpedoes the entire offense. That makes this over/under marker much too high.

OSB Prediction: Under 235 (-110)
