Damian Lillard will try to accomplish something the Kansas City Chiefs couldn't and secure the 3-peat this Saturday. After becoming just the 6th player in NBA history to win the 3-Point Contest in back-to-back years, the 34-year-old will aim for a record-tying 3rd-consecutive title.
The Bucks guard will be up against seven of the best long-distance shooters in the league - Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Darius Garland (Cavaliers), Tyler Herro (Heat), Buddy Hield (Warriors), Cam Johnson (Nets) and Norman Powell (Clippers).
Let's look at the latest betting odds. Odds are subject to change.

Lillard favored
Damian Lillard (+360) is favored to win the event for the third-consecutive time. Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird captured the annual shooting exhibition in each of its first three years from 1986 to 1988. Craig Hodges of the Bulls also pulled off the 3-peat from 1990 to 1992.
Lillard is shooting 38.3% from beyond the arc this season, which is his best mark since the 2020-21 season and almost 3 points better than when he claimed this competition last year.
Last year, the Bucks point guard became the first back-to-back winner in 16 years, but it wasn't easy. After Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, Karl-Anthony Towns and Trae Young all put up 26 points in the first round, a tiebreaker was needed to determine the three finalists. Lillard then successfully defended his crown with another 26 in the final to best Trae Young (24) and Karl-Anthony Towns (22).

Other contenders
Buddy Hield (+480) is the only other former 3-point champion in the field, winning the contest in 2020 as a member of the Kings. Five years later, the 32-year-old has a 37.3 3P% as a bench player for the Golden State Warriors.
Tyler Herro (+550) will be playing in his first ever NBA All-Star Game on Sunday after averaging 23.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game this season. The 25-year-old Miami Heat guard was eliminated in the first round of the event in 2023 after scoring 18 points. No one in this year's competition has more 3-pointers made this year than Herro (185), who's No. 4 in the NBA in that category.
Best longshots
Darius Garland (+600) is shooting his best 3-point percentage (43.4%) of his six-year career. That's notably better than Herro's 38.8 3P%. The Cavs guard has drained 151 threes in 2024-25, so the volume is also there.
Norman Powell (+550) is having a career year in his 10th season in the league. The Clippers guard is averaging 24 points per game while shooting 42.9% from 3-point land.
Only two players have won the NBA All-Star Three-Point Contest 3 time, both of those players also won them consecutively!

2025 NBA 3-Point Contest Picks
Damian Lillard (+360) has an excellent shot to make history with past champions like Steph Curry and Karl-Anthony Towns opting out of the competition, and both Trae Young and Tyrese Haliburton not participating.
However, we'll take Darius Garland (+600) to stage an upset in San Francisco on Saturday night.
