The NASCAR Cup Series season might've just ended, but it's never too early to look ahead to the next. After all, it's not that far away, with the Clash at the Coliseum taking place on February 4th in Los Angeles. The campaign concluded in Phoenix late last year with Ryan Blaney winning it all for the first time in his NASCAR career. By no surprise, Blaney is the slim favorite to repeat ahead of the first race of 24', sitting at +550 odds. But, there's a plethora of other drivers right on his tail. William Byron (+575), Kyle Larson (+575), Denny Hamlin (+725), and Chase Elliott (+850) are among the others who are expected to contend for the Cup Series Championship. Ryan Blaney (+550)

Blaney secured a dramatic win in Phoenix to capture his first Cup Series Championship and overall had a very nice season. In 36 races, he had three victories, 18 top-10 finishes, and eight top-fives. This was the second year in a row a Penske driver took home the Bill France Cup, with Joey Logano winning in 2022. Blaney is a fantastic driver, but there hasn't been a repeat winner since Jimmie Johnson. It feels unlikely Blaney beats out all these others who were very much in contention until the final four in Phoenix. Nevertheless, it doesn't exactly hurt to put some money on Blaney, either.

William Byron (+575)

Byron really found his best in 2023. He had the most wins on the Cup Series circuit with six. The rest of his numbers were incredibly impressive, too. 21 top 10 finishes and 15 top fives. Byron was also second in laps led. He is undoubtedly one of the up-and-comers in NASCAR and proved that he is capable of being in the championship mix. Byron also won on some tough tracks like Atlanta and Watkins Glen. Just based on how much Byron progressed in 23', he's absolutely worth a bet before the upcoming campaign gets started.

Kyle Larson (+575)

Larson is a seasoned veteran and while he didn't produce each and every week this past season, Larson still had some decent results. He won four times, finished with the most laps led in the Cup Series at over 1,200, and notched 15 top-five finishes. That tied him with Byron. He finished the season with four straight top-five finishes. The only struggle for Larson was on superspeedways. If he can improve that, a second Cup Series Championship could be in the mix.

Denny Hamlin (+725)

Hamlin has been one of the better drivers in the Cup Series for many years. He ultimately finished in fifth in 2023, winning three times to go along with 19 top-10 finishes and 14 top-fives. Not a bad resume by any means. However, Hamlin has still never won a championship. After all, he is 43, so time is running out, especially with some very good youngsters on the circuit who are hungry to take over. We'll see if Joe Gibbs Racing can help Hamlin finally grab that first Cup Series title before it becomes too late.

Christopher Bell (+850)

Bell is one of several drivers with +850 odds. He was fourth last season with two victories, 10 top-fives, and 19 top-10 finishes overall. But, he only led for a total of 599 laps throughout the campaign. Bell had a run at one point where he was either first or second in every race.

Chase Elliott (+850)

The 23' season was a bit of a write-off for Elliott. He suffered an early injury and was also suspended for a short period of time. In 29 races, he didn't win once, which is a big surprise for him. Elliott had seven top-five finishes though and 15 top-10s. We've seen what Elliott can do in the past and as long as he stays healthy and steers clear of any other problems in 24', I expect him to be in the championship mix.

Martin Truex Jr (+850)

Truex Jr won the Cup Series in 2017 but he had a forgettable 23' season, finishing in 11th place with three wins, nine top-fives, and 17 top-10s. Truex Jr won at Darlington, Miami, and Martinsville. He's the youngest, but Truex Jr is still a very good driver. You can't sleep on him.

NASCAR Cup Series Futures Picks

At this point, it's best to bet on a few different guys. Blaney is worth it, while I believe Elliott will bounce back. Also, put some money on Byron. He's legit.
