Larson having the second-best odds feels too rich for us. Yes, he’s the reigning 2021 Cup champion, but he’s not really in the mix so far. With one win all year long, Larson is at 476 points, which ranks seventh overall. That’s well behind the likes of first-place Chase Elliott (536 points), plus Ross Chastain (520) and Kyle Busch (513) who follow in second and third, respectively.

The story of the NASCAR season so far (and for the rest of the season) is the Next Gen car. Onto the “minor league” of NASCAR that features soon-to-be stars of the Cup Series. Let’s take a gander at the current lines to win the Xfinity Series:

Here’s a guy that very well could’ve won the 2021 title (Austin Cindric and him traded leads most of the way). Here’s a guy who’s currently atop the standings with 573 points off of two wins and seven top-5s. Here’s a guy who just won in Portland despite literally coming from last place.

Allmendinger is the real deal. And more than anything else, we love him at this current betting price. At the 5-to-1 odds you’re getting right now, he’s definitely worth throwing action on.

Ty Gibbs, the current betting favorite, certainly isn’t a bad choice either. He’s won seven races in the past two years, showing he has a real killer instinct — which is what makes or breaks champions come playoff time. NASCAR Truck Series Pick

Last but certainly not least, our pick to win in the Truck Series. Right now, it feels like a four-man dead heat for the title. The top-4 in the standings are as follows (in order): Ben Rhodes, Chandler Smith, Zane Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek. A meager 14 points separates first from fourth place as of this publish date.

Regular-season standings matter even more in the Truck Series because only the top-10 qualify for the postseason — that’s lower than Xfinity (12 drivers advance) and Cup Series (16). However, all three series value outright wins come playoff time with a winner-take-all finale deciding it once the postseason field is down to four drivers.

Speaking of wins, Zane Smith has three already this year. Him and Corey Heim are the lone drivers with multiple victories in 2022 — though, Heim is way back in 20th place and unlikely to qualify for the playoffs.
