The NASCAR returns on Sunday at the Michigan International Speedway with the FireKeepers Casino 400, the 23rd race of the season. Last weekend, we saw Tyler Reddick collect his second victory of the year at the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard, previously winning in early July at the Kwik Trip 250. Heading into this race, Chase Elliott, the leader in the NASCAR standings, is a +650 favorite alongside Kyle Busch, who is also at +650 odds. Elliott will be hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 16th-place finish last time out. Keep reading for our FireKeepers Casino 400 picks.

What You Need to Know
This race track in Michigan is just two miles long and portrays the shape of a D. That being said, it's seen as one of the quickest on the NASCAR circuit. There isn't a lot of twists and turns which means spectators have the chance to watch some pure racing down the straights of the track.

2021 saw Ryan Blaney win this race but prior to that, Kevin Harvick won in 2020 and 2019. He also won here in 2018 in the Consumers Energy 400. Harvick is only at +2000 odds for Sunday, but he's worth a look given the recent success in Michigan.
Breakdown and Contenders
Last Sunday just really wasn't Elliott's day. A 16th place finish was his worst in the last eight races. Nevertheless, it's understandable why he's still considered a contender in the FireKeepers Casino 400 picks. Before Indianapolis, Elliott finished in either first or second in five straight outings, including three victories during that span at Pocono, Atlanta, and Nashville. Yes, one of them was because of a disqualification, but regardless, Elliott continues to drive extremely well. He's also one of the best on road tracks, which is definitely something to keep an eye on. He still owns a 125-point lead in the standings, too.
Based on form, you have to also take a look at Tyler Reddick. He was dominant at Indianapolis, running away with top spot. Reddick is at just +1000 odds here, but the month of July was pretty kind to him. He won Road America, finished second at Pocono, then of course, came out victorious again last Sunday. He's still way back in 11th place in the standings, but Reddick is definitely trending in the right direction.
Denny Hamlin is another driver that may be a contender on Sunday in the FireKeepers Casino 400 picks. He's stumbled a bit of past weeks, but Hamlin finished 2nd in the 2020 FireKeepers race and fifth last year. On the season, the Toyota driver has five top-10 finishes and two wins. He's way back in the standings, but perhaps Hamlin can pull one out of the bag here.
The Ford Effect
Ford drivers tend to have their way at the Michigan Raceway. In fact, a Ford car has won seven straight races on this track, which is why Harvick (+2000) and Ryan Blaney (+1000) have a shot. Harvick, as previously mentioned, has enjoyed himself at Michigan in recent years, while Blaney won this race last year. Both drivers have yet to win this season. Harvick is coming off a 33rd-place finish at Indianapolis. Blaney ended up in 26th. The latter definitely has the better team and perhaps he can replicate his 2021 success on Sunday in best betting strategies.
The Final Picks
There are a few picks that could be of value here. I really like how Reddick has been racing and I think he'll continue his success on Sunday. Can he win a second race in a row? I truly think it's possible. Take him at +1200. Also, you have to bet on Chase Elliott to finish top three. His recent results simply speak for themselves, that's all there is to it. He's running away with the Cup Series title and he'll continue to rack up the points.
Also, it's impossible to look past Harvick. This is a track where he absolutely thrives and his confidence will be at an all-time high in Michigan.Ā Speaking of Ford, it might also be worth taking Blaney to finish in the top-10 after winning this race last season, too.
