With the NASCAR Cup Series season coming to a close, we're back at it on Sunday with the 2022 M&M's Fan Appreciation 400 at Pocono Raceway in Northeastern Pennsylvania. This course is typically known as the "Tricky Triangle" because of the difficulty of this track, which is 2.5 miles long in length. But, there are surprisingly quite a few favorites all with odds under +1000 including Kyle Busch, standings leader Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson all sitting at +800. Christopher Bell, who won the Ambetter 301 last weekend after just edging out Elliott and Martin Truex Jr, comes in at +1800. Keep reading for the NASCAR Pocono picks.

Chase Elliott
Elliott has been in impressive shape in recent weeks, solidifying his spot at the top of the Cup Series table. He currently has a 67-point lead over second-place Ross Chastain after finishing as a runner-up at the Ambetter 301. In fact, Elliott has actually won two of the last four races, securing first in Nashville and Atlanta. He's also finished within the top-10 in five consecutive appearances. There frankly isn't a driver who is thriving like Elliott right now and his recent form is a very positive sign ahead of a race that he's yet to win. But, it's certainly understandable why he's got the shortest odds to continue his blistering run. Elliott should get a solid starting spot, too. He's worth a look in the NASCAR Pocono picks.
Kyle Busch
Busch needs to be considered a contender here. The younger Busch brother is driving extremely well at the moment, finishing in the top-five in four of his last six outings. While he end up in 12th place last weekend, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has won on four different occasions and most recently in 2021. Despite this being one of the more difficult tracks of the season, Busch evidently thrives. He's also led for 22.8% of the laps in 2022. Another driver in good form, Busch can't be overlooked in a place where he loves to race. He could be worth a look in best betting strategies.
Kevin Harvick
Kevin Harvick might be at +1200 odds here but he's trending upwards in the NASCAR standings. He's got two top-five finishes in his last five races including a fifth place finish at Ambetter last weekend. More importantly, Harvick historically impresses on the track at Pocono, averaging a 7.2 finish across his last six races on the track. He's yet to win a race this season but it feels like it's only a matter of time until Harvick does so. This could be his time to shine. Keep an eye on him in the NASCAR Pocono picks.
Denny Hamlin
Hamlin is way back in 19th place in the NASCAR Cup Series standings and finished in sixth at Ambetter. He's secured two wins this season, but Hamlin has captured top spot at Pocono six different times throughout his career. That's a good sign ahead of this race. He's currently 27 points back of a playoff berth therefore a respectable result is crucial on Sunday. Perhaps a seventh victory could be in the cards?
Ryan Blaney
Blaney disappointed last Sunday in New Hampshire, finishing in 18th spot despite heading into the race as one of the favorites. However, he was a Pocono champ in 2017 and has seven top-five finishes this season. He's also ended up in the top six in four of the last six races. Although Blaney has yet to come in first place in 2022, there is a chance he's in contention on Sunday. Ambetter was just an off day for him.
Martin Truex Jr
Truex Jr has +1000 odds for Sunday's race but his recent results don't exactly scream consistent. He's only finished in the top five in one of his last five outings but that was last weekend at NHMS where he secured a fourth-place finish. That helped him move up to fourth place in the NASCAR standings. If Ambetter was any indication, Truex could be heading in the right direction.
The Pick
Chase Elliott is truly on fire. Yes, Kyle Bush has succeeded at Pocono many times before, but Elliott continues to prove that he is the class of the Cup Series. There is no other driver who has finished within the top two in the last four races. Sure, it might seem a little bit risky to think he can win again here, but believe in the trends. Take Elliott in the NASCAR Pocono picks.
Pick: Chase Elliott to win NASCAR Pocono.
