The NASCAR Cup Series heads down south this Sunday to the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600. This is the longest race of the season and will begin just hours after Indianapolis 500 concludes. The favorite for this event is Kyle Larson (+400) and he happens to be attempting to do the double, also participating in the IndyCar race. Denny Hamlin (+650), Tyler Reddick (+800), Brad Keselowski (+1000), Martin Truex Jr (+1000), William Byron (+1100), and Chase Elliott (+1100). Larson will be the first Cup Series driver to participate in both events in over a decade. Continue reading for the Coca-Cola 600 picks.

This is a 600-mile race with 100 laps in each of its four stages. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is in Concord, North Carolina. Ryan Blaney is the defending champion. Truex Jr has two career wins here. So does Kevin Harvick.
Kyle Larson (+400)
Larson sitting at the very top of the Cup Series standings, 30 points clear of Truex Jr. He has two wins, six top 10s, and six top fives. Larson also happens to be on quite the run at the moment. He was second at Dover, first at Kansas, 34th at Darlington, and then fourth over the weekend at the All-Star Race. Larson is as consistent as can be, but no driver has ever won even one of the two races in both NASCAR and IndyCar in the same day. Not that many have attempted it in the first place. You'd have to imagine Indy 500 is going to tire him out before heading over to Charlotte.
Denny Hamlin (+650)
Hamlin was the 2022 Coca-Cola 600 winner, which is probably the main reason he's so high up here. He's having a good season, not sitting that far behind Larson in the standings while leading for the second-most laps in the Cup Series at 607. If you need further evidence to bet on Hamlin, he's on a heater. First at Dover, fifth at Kansas, fourth at Darlington, and second at the All-Star Race. If Larson isn't one you want to bet on given just how hectic his day is going be, Hamlin seems like the perfect alternative. This is his best stretch of the season so far by a long shot.
Tyler Reddick (+800)
Reddick isn't having the greatest year. He's sixth in the Cup Series standings and has struggled to find consistent results. There was only one spell this season where he had three consecutive finishes in the top 10 and that was last month when he won Talladega. Overall, Reddick has just one victory, four top fives, and seven top 10s. He finished in 14th over the weekend and 32nd at Darlington. However, he was fifth and sixth in the two Charlotte races in 2023. That's reason for optimism. Perhaps a specific bet on Reddick would offer some value.
Martin Truex Jr (+1000)
As previously mentioned, Truex Jr has a track record of success at the Coca-Cola 600 with two victories. Those came in 2016 and 2019. Coincidentally enough, he's yet to win this season, despite sitting second in the standings. He does have seven top-10s and four top-five finishes, though. Truex Jr was 12th on Sunday and 25th in Darlington. he did secure back-to-back top-four finishes in Kansas and Dover, however. Truex Jr was third in this race last year but 20th in the fall edition.
Ryan Blaney (+1000)
We have to discuss the defending champ. Blaney is having a very tough year. He's eighth and has only led for 123 laps all season, failing to win a single race. Blaney did come in fifth last weekend but was 36th the weekend before that. Considering he was the winner in Charlotte last May, this could be the race to rejuvenate him. But, the recent results don't exactly scream consistency.
Coca-Cola 600 Picks
I just do not see Larson rolling over to Charlotte and beating the rest of the field. That is going to be an exhausting day for him. Instead, I'm going to go with Truex Jr. His recent form is phenomenal and the resume in Charlotte is very clear. He'll win this one.
