United Rentals Work United 500 Picks

After an exciting Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas last weekend where William Byron took home top spot, we now look ahead to Sunday's race at the Phoenix Raceway known as theUnited Rentals Work United 500. While Chase Briscoe is the defending champion, last year's Cup Series winner Joey Logano is the frontrunner is the sportsbooks with +800 odds. After all, this is the same track he clinched the title last season. Rounding out the top five is Ryan Blaney (+850), Kyle Larson (+900), Christopher Bell (+1000), and Denny Hamlin (+1000). Keep reading for the United Rentals Work United 500 picks.

Before we get into the preview, odds, and predictions, check out our how-to bet on NASCAR page.

United Rentals Work United 500 Odds

The odds are relatively tight between the top-10 contenders. It's important to note that Chase Elliott isn't listed because he's out for six weeks after suffering a tibia injury.

The race consists of 312 total laps with the circuit around one mile. There are three stages and will go as follows: 75 laps, 115 raps, and 122 laps. As previously mentioned, Phoenix Raceway was the scene for the final playoff race in 2022.

United Rentals Work United 500 Preview

Joey Logano (+800)

As always, we'll start with the frontrunner. Logano is coming off a rather poor showing in Las Vegas, finishing in 36th place. But in his title defense so far, the Shell-Pennzoil star is driving rather well early on. He has three top 1o finishes in five races, including a runner-up showing at Daytona 500. Logano cruised to victory on this track not long ago in the Cup Series championship and also finished eighth in this exact same race last March. There is a sense of familiarity for him in the desert. Can't count him out.

Ryan Blaney (+850)

It hasn't been a great start to the season for Blaney. He's currently 15th in the standings and is yet to secure a top-five finish in races that actually count. His best race thus far is Daytona 500, locking down eighth. However, his last two outings in Phoenix resulted in fourth place and second place. Not exactly surprising why he's toward the top of the odds table. The two races before that in Phoenix were also top-10 finishes.

Kyle Larson (+900)

Larson struggled through the first two events of the campaign, but it all changed last weekend. He was just edged out by Byron in Vegas, finishing as runner-up and collecting 53 points in the process. That means Larson comes into Phoenix with some momentum, plus he's got three top-10 finishes in his last four appearances on this track. That includes a victory in November of 2021. Larson is one to keep an eye on here.

Kevin Harvick (+1000)

Honestly kind of surprised Harvick doesn't have even better odds here. He's won the United Rentals Work United 500 a total of five times since 2006, including three consecutive years from 2014 to 2016. His latest win in Phoenix came in 2018. While he's obviously aged since then and is one of the older drivers in the Cup Series circuit, Harvick cannot be taken lightly to compete come Sunday. Also, he's coming off a fifth-place showing in California and a ninth-place finish in Sin City.

Ross Chastain (+1000)

We have to discuss the current leader in the Cup Series standings. Chastain hasn't finished worst than 12th in the first three races of the 2023 season and has no shortage of recent success in Phoenix. We're talking second place last March and then third in November. Given how well he's driving early on as well, Chastain's +1000 could offer serious value.

United Rentals Work United 500 Picks

As you can see, there are lots of different guys with a solid track record in Phoenix. That's why it's worth betting on a couple. I'm looking at Logano and Chastain here.
