The MotoGP riders raced 19 times so far this season and there is one more to go. The World Title concludes the ongoing battle between Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin. Yes, the riders head from the Far East to Barcelona. Weather appears to be dry for the entire weekend with mostly tranquil conditions. Now the Sprint race could clinch the final standings leaving Sunday anti-climatic. However, we look at a few 2024 Barcelona GP Bets worth taking that help bettors get in the green one more time.

A Long Strange Trip To Barcelona
Yes, this has been a long strange trip to Barcelona. Now, viewers and bettors will get their form of closure. Hopefully, as many proceeds as possible from the event will go to the victims of the floods near Valencia. For those that did not watch, that may have been the worst flooding in an area anyone has seen since the pictures of Hurricane Harvey in the Houston, Texas area. Think of what Hurricane Helene did to the mountains of North Carolina as well.
The Barcelona Grand Prix is a first of sorts here. This is the second time the riders have raced on the track this season. If it feels like NASCAR, it is because NASCAR goes back to quite a few tracks during their 36-race schedule. Different circumstances made this necessary and hopefully this does not have to be done ever again. It is good to have previous track results from the current season, however.
The first Barcelona event occurred on May 25th and 26th. Funny enough, Francesco Bagnaia won the main event but crashed out during the sprint. As for the race itself, Bagnaia edged out Jorge Martin by 1.7 seconds. Aleix Espargaro won the Sprint and the Pole but dropped to fourth during the race. Late-run speed betrayed Espargaro as he lost large chunks of time during the later stages of the race.
Okay, there are 36 laps to go in the season and 24 we look at for Sunday. Let's ride!
2024 Barcelona GP Bets Favor Bagnaia
The 2024 Barcelona GP Bets favor Bagnaia on Sunday for plenty of reasons. For one, he has absolutely nothing to lose. That is one scenario. He crashed out at Malaysia during the Sprint and won the race but Martin finished second. Bagnaia can not afford to crash out like he did on the final lap in May during the Sprint. Basically, Bagnaia needs to sweep the Sprint and race and the Italian knows it. As he said after Malaysia, "We will see what happens next."
Knowing the race conditions will be dry drove Bagnaia's numbers into the negative territory. Other reasons include the obvious. He has to win this race. Even if the Sprint decides things, the Italian will go for the win in the main event. He has the speed and ability to hold every other driver off. That is exactly what he managed to do in May against Jorge Martin. The Spaniard was the only one who could somewhat keep up with Bagnaia's pace during the second half of the race.
The 2024 Barcelona GP Picks hoped that Bagnaia would be a little closer in the standings to maybe lengthen the odds a little. However, that was not meant to be. His on-track speed is excellent here. Bagnaia merely needs to qualify well, place higher than Martin in the Sprint, and then win the race. It's that simple. No pressure at all. After all, he is not the hunted right now. That role belongs to Jorge Martin.
Bagnaia was projected to be +150 for this event more than a week ago. He is now as low as -125 and the reasoning is rationale. It is that late-run extra speed combined with track knowledge that makes the -120 number on Bovada a hair better.
Okay Can Jorge Martin Punch This Ticket?
The 2024 BarcelonaĀ GP Bets wonders if Jorge Martin can punch this ticket. While the pressure is now at the penultimate, Martin can keep his bike upright more often during the Sprints and Races. There is no Turn 9 in Malaysia to worry about this week. It is interesting to note the strategy Martin used in Barcelona in May could play out again on Sunday. He does not need to win the Sprint. Martin merely needs to stay upright and get enough points to make Sunday a formality.
Though other options are tempting. Marc Marquez is at +333 via BetOnline and MyBookie. Even Aleix Espargaro at +1200 is a possibility. One can toss in Pedro Acosta perhaps but this main event feels like it comes down to one more Bagnaia vs Martin battle. Now, Marquez had some really quick lap times late at Barcelona and at Malaysia. However, the handling of the top 2 riders with the Ducati's are currently a hair better.
A win to cement his first MotoGP World Title would be the capper of cappers for Martin.
